80 hours from 70 to 80, are you kidding me?
Return to board index
I spent ~6 hours /played pr. ding from 70-80 on my warlock and balance druid, purely questing, no instances or BG. My restodruid was a tad slower at ~7 hours/ding..
It took me 3,5 hours per level on my Death Knight. My Paladin about 3 hours(I knew all quest then) Also 79-80 took 1 hour 40 minutes on my paladin. Anyway DK and Paladin are easy to level. You can expect 3 - 5 hours per level since sometimes you get bored and play around a bit.
EDIT: QuestHelper makes questing 300% faster... I also remembered my Paladin was rested quite alot.
I was talking to someone I've met and he seems like a good person and I'm on my way of getting a Mage up to 80. However, he warned me that once you get to 70, it becomes like 10 hours just to level up one level. I can't believe what he was telling me, if that's the case then I'll never make it on time when Icecrown comes out. =(
He was either jerking your chain, or an incredibly slow leveller.
My first toon from 70-80, I don't remember how long it took. I know it wasn't long. I got lost a lot, didn't know the quests yet, was fighting for spawn points with everyone else, etc etc. Educated guess I'd say 3-4 hours per level at the outside.
Just got my fifth toon to 80, and although I don't need quest helper any more for the quests, I still use it. Mindlessly follow the arrow, kill the mobs with an extra-large tooltip (until tooltip returns to normal size), follow the arrow again. It just puts me on the most efficient levelling path based on what's in my log. Think I'm down to about 2 hours per level now, 3 at the absolute most.
Good tip - even if you don't care a fig for achievements, put up the quest tracker for the zone you're in. Concentrate on that instead of your exp bar. Don't move from the zone until you've got that achievement. Makes it seem so much quicker (and gets you a nice little exp buffer to take to the next zone with you).
Get a flying mount - it trivialises quite a lot of the early quests and speeds you up immensely.
For the record - levelled 2 warriors, a shaman, hunter and druid.

4 hours average per level if you take it easy, 2.5 hours a level if you move fast. I have 6 level 80s, a lvl 76 mage, 71 rogue, 70 shaman, and 70 priest. I'm going for the 1 of every class club membership before cataclysm ( I use my druid to raid, he can heal/dps any raid right now np so I don't miss much content)
but yeah, from experience if you have questhelper it's only about 3 hours per level.
