100 things you learned from deadmines

All of the servers I've been on* have done it this way:
DM= deadmines
Dire Maul, DM west = Dire Maul
*Draenor, Kazzak, Executus, Ahn'Qiraj all EU - I hop servers because my RL friends constantly stop playing and others start playing on different servers -.- Right now all my alliance chars are on Executus and my Hordes on Ahn'Qiraj. Same battlegroup so makes up for some interesting bgs sometimes xD
edit: on topic,
I learned that stealth is not very effective with higher level mobs, even if you're sub.
I also learned that you should never pug with people who "spek liek dis" because they won't understand anything of what you're saying and will get your group raped... repeatedly

I learned that if the other three members of the party are grilling the druid who just volunteered to heal your group as to whether or not he's resto specced for a level 19 instance, leaving is a good idea as things are about to get epic.

You don't need a shield to tank, I've tanked Deadmines on a rogue.
As to abbreviation confusion with Dire Maul, I believe on some servers deadmines is "dm" whereas Dire Maul is "DM." (The lower case implies a lower level). Off-topic, I find it funny how many instances share similar abbreviations or names: Magtheridon and Magister's Terrace, Culling of Stratholm is sometimes just "Caverns of Time" (shares with 2-3 others) or Strat (could be the original), Old Kingdom is OK (which leads "LF1M Tank OK" to sometimes make me read it as "our group will be ok if we get a tank")...
When I played on alliance (horde now) I used to make alts with the intent of going through VC on them. It was my favorite instance, and it helped me learn how to play on the different classes in a group setting - even if I didnt have too many abilities at that level. So it was the backbone of my learning process:
I learned what marking, focus-fire, and group roles are.
I learned what pats, adds, and CC was.
I learned loot ettiquette (particularly how need/greed worked, I was confused as another poster above).
I learned how to improvise (for example, 4-manning it with no tank, just have the rogue sap one and tank one, have the mage sheep one, and have the warlock send his VW on one).
I learned how to bug mobs out (e.g. "GET TO TEH WHEEL!")
I learned how to attack from behind if I'm melee (particularly on a rogue).
However, the most important thing I learned is:
Do NOT trust tab-target, especially if there's a level above you.

...yeah.
Yeah, I...I have to agree with this.
"are you resto?"
"...does it really matter at level 18? Does Mr. Smite have an enrage timer? Is this really going to be a problem? You think I can't keep up the Earth Shield through Rhak'zor? Seriously? 'Specced'? You ask that in an instance where more than half the enemies aren't elite?"
More recently, I learned that you can tell when you're playing with someone who's been in the Northrend dungeons. They're the ones running into the goblins with arcane explosions left and right and then wondering why they keep pulling aggro.

That I shouldnt have needed on that cloak because I'm a warrior and warriors need mail cloaks.
A good thing I did learn though was not to need everything :D. I thought greed would mean to just take it and need was kinda like a nice way of saying yah I'd like to have that. Didnt know about passing either.
