Searched the answers that already existed, and I found an amazing website with a lot of details.

No, but it makes choosing easier :D. I think I will tell my parents tomorrow, but until then keep telling me what you think people!

Don't tell them the internet told you, lol.

I'd say choose physics, as there are far too many people attempting to go towards a medical profession.
Less competition, you see.

ASH, I just have this to say: I have a couple of friends who have gone into physics/astrophysics as their major in college. You have to keep in mind that there is a very limited amount of job opportunities if you are a pure physics guy. Either you do another, different degree afterwards, or you stay pure physics and join the Acedemic community.
As a pure physicist, your likely professions are with a company/university working on grants given by other companies/government. It's a great experience for some, but for others, it's a little bit of a crapshoot. You're not guaranteed to have employment all the time.
Physics is a really good base though. From a degree in physics, once you know what you really like doing, you can go into another program that is more your style.
I personally have avoided medicine in my acedemic pursuits, not because I don't want to be a doctor, but because I was being pushed by my mother to be one - so I never considered it to be an option. If you like medicine but are avoiding it for the same reason as me, that's not that great. But otherwise, go with what you like doing.

Well, I told them, I wasn't exactly "fine, its your choice". "Epic" arguments ensued. I am having second thoughts about this....

I don't have to, I know. But why are they so persistent? maybe I should choose medicine, my mum reckons I will like it, she keeps saying that I will regret it if I don't :S. /sigh

This is going to sound pretty stupid, but here goes: What if I regret it? :S

if you're worried about making the wrong choice, go with the medicine route. Once you've made a pile of money, you can always go back to college and go into another field.
That's what my mother did, she was a computer engineer but she was unsatisfied with her job, so she ended up going back to college much later and became a clinical dietitian.

The people who do that are among the minority.
Hes stated before he'd very much dislike going through a boring 7 years of studies for a subject what isn't even his forte. The only thing that's keeping him from just going with physics is his parents, from what I can tell.
I mean, I doubt your parents would totally shut you off for doing what you like.
Maybe, I am not sure, but probably.

But the option is there. You aren't permanently stuck with your career if years down the road you want to change your profession.
