Questions about Scourge Strike

Ok, so the damage is shadow, but it is based on weapon damage. My question is how does stats like expertise, hit rating, armor penatration effect this move. Scourge strike should bypass armor, so this makes armor pen not effect its damage. Is it a shadow spell or a physical attack? If it is a spell would this still be dodged or parried? How would that effect expertise? Can it be resisted? Does this need the requirements of spell hit cap or the requirements of melee hit cap?
I am using 5 scourge strikes in a 20 second rotations due to the glyph of disease. My second highest ability is auto attacks, followed by death coil, followed by diseases, followed by heart strike. Roughly 70-75% of my damage is now shadow damage and 50-60% of my damage is from Scourge Strike. So my question is that now that the majority of my damage are scourge strikes, what stats and ratings best supports this ability?

SS can be resisted (unfortunately) partially (luckily :P) but with decent hit (~8%) this happens very rarely (or when you're fighting mobs with high shadow resistance)
Since it bypasses armor it scales very generously with Attack power (strength) but in order to squeeze the most out of your dps it's preffered that you aim for the Hit and Expertise cap before going nuts with +str :P

Dont worry, he most likely means Blood strike since it's impossible to both have SS and HS :)
It's human to fail now and then :)
