Making a guide, I will be editing. Do not post yet. No, I have not run spell check yet.
Hi, I am Infleto. I have made a few posts on the PvP and the rouges forms, trying to find info on sub PvP. Yet, most people (and I) play mutilate/prep. Do to the lack of information on sub PvP, I am going to try different sub builds and find out what works. This process will take a lot of time.
Disclaimer: I have never a played Sub PvP spec before. I will spec each build, L2P and, then test.
Untested information will be posted between
{Untested} and
{End of untested info} All information that is marked as untested is prone to being wrong and very noobish!
After I find out what works and what dose not. I will post my finding in between
{ Confirmed } and
{End of confirmed info} This thread is a information gathering and compiling operation. I would like everyone to look for missives information. When correcting info, state whether I have marked the information as "untested" or "confirmed"
Many times I will have questions about different thing that I am having a hard time testing. This question will be marked with
-(insert question here, Q#)-
and will be numbered. When answering questions, pleas state the question number.

- Uses high burst from AB and ShD.
- Survivability and cc CDs are used for resetting and reopening to create the opportunity for burst out side of ShD
- Dose poorly if you can not reset and reopen and ShD is on cool CD
- Has no sustained damaged as you hit like you are DWing with Teddy Bears. (Ah! oh, no! stop! don't hit me with Teddy Bears!). You must use your CDs to attack on your own terms!
- Weapon swap macros are needed on most abilities to max out damage.
Weapons -
Your MH will be changed with a macro for each attack. replace evis with the name of the ability you are macroing
/equipslot 16 Your weapon's name
/cast Eviscerate
- For Ambush and BS macros- Slow MH dagger with high AP, Agl, very high crit and max damage
- For evis, SS, GS, garr, CS, KS macros- Slow Mace/sword/fist MH with high DPS
A slow OH can help but, dose not matter. go with the best sats and dps.
For Shiv macro - With shiv you will need 3 different 1.5 speed OH swords. apply different poisons to each and keep them in your bags. Now make the macro for each weapon and keybind all 3 macros separately. This changes shiv into 3 different poison buttons. When using the macros, you will need to hit it 2 times to get your normal OH back which should have a wound poison on it.
/equipslot 17 Your shiving weapon's name
/cast Shiv
/equipslot 17 Your normal OH weapon's name
Poisons - wound/wound.
----- General Tactics ----- After you find your target, You will start with a burst opening to dent their health and give them a chance to blow there CDs. Next, You should try to induce a trinket with a Stunlock opening. After you get them to trinket, you should reopen with ShD,
Outside of ShD you will need to first use a burst opening, Fallowed by a stunlock opening to give you time to get Pmed and ShS off CD. Then Burst open again and alternate between the burst and stunlock opening
Burst Opening -
- Pmed > ShS > AB
this part of the opening lets you have high up front burst. you want to use Pmed ~ 10 sec befor you open. So, when you reopen you can Pmed again.
You will need a macro to change MH to dagger for AB
/equipslot 16 Your dagger's name
/cast Ambush
OR
Seeing how it is all done simultaneously it can be macroed to gather with out the risk of a macro messing thing up.
This macro will, put you in stealth if you are none combat, change to daggers when sheathed and cast Pmed, ShS, and AB, and when in combat will only cast ShS. Yet, limits your Effectives for, you to have to wait longer until Pmed is off cool down to use it in your reopening !
-(can "equipslot 16" and "" be used together? Q1)-
/cast stealth
/equipslot 16 Your weapon's name
/castsequence Premeditation, Shadowstep, Ambush
/cast Shadowstep
- Shiv or SS
This part of the opening you can Shiv or SS 1 or 2 times but keep enough energy for a "you go away button" -(can any one show math as to what will do more damage with this spec, shiv/Ip or SS, too plate? Q2)-
With SS you will still need a weapon swap macro, see the "weapons" section
With shiv see the macro in the "weapons" section - Reset
You are not mutilate/prep you have no sustained damage. it is better to reset and reopen Vs, trying to smack someone’s plate armor with your Teddy Bears-ish weapons.
--you go away button macros make it easer to get out of combat and restealth. they cut down on panic and reaction time, Keybind all 3 macros separately. The macroed button needs to be spammed repeatedly until you see you are stealth to work.
"you go away button 1"
/cast Gouge
/cast Stealth
"you go away button 2"
/cast Blind
/cast Stealth
"you go away button 3" Is vanish.
--- After you restealth you will need to sap your target to stop him/her from healing and recovering from your opening. sapping the target may induce him/her to trinket.
--- If they do trinket sap you should hide until you have full energy and move to a ShD open, If they do not trinket try the Stunlock Opening
Stunlock Opening -
Most people now know to trinket KS, Thanks in part to the thousands of mutilate/prep rogues who use CS + KS to stunlock then burst the target to 1/2 health before the target could move.
Our Stunlock Opening is not for damage. It is indented to induce a trinket form your target so you can safely ShD there face in. You will need to use a macro to switch weapons, See the "weapons" section above, You may have to repeat this to get a trinket.
