The worst arena paladin ever....

So, after hours of arena last night(101 games and almost no sleep), one of the last games rather made me mad.
Warrior/holy paladin. Not a bad comp. Descent fight on our hands, but it's nothing too horrible.
We nuke the warrior while CCing the paladin as always. The warrior manages to kill my warlock partner right as I kill him, so now it's holy paladin/feral druid. I can actually beat holy paladins. I've done it before quite a few times.....
Then I looked at his buffs. He's got Holy shield up and cracks me with avenger's shield.....
ZOMG! PROT IN HOLY GEAR!......
I've never actually had a fight where the arena actually kicked us out(it was 47 minutes long).... He was critting flash heals for over 8k! And no stuns would stick to him. He'ld just Flash Heal 3 times and be back up to full. You can see my armory. I'm not an under geared feral druid... Between the lag from the water column visual, and my computer being retarded, it was block, block, parry, 800, block, parry, dodge, 900, block........
Damage to him.... Rake=1200 ticks, Rip= 1400 ticks, 2200 crits(with SR up....) Shred= 2300 crits. I couldn't get out enough damage to him, and he was blocking/avoiding everything when he wasn't casting a heal or stunned.... Oh yeah, did I mention the
20 second HoJ CD!
OMFG!
I'ld get 5cp rip, mangle, rake, and SR up, then he'ld hammer me, and I'ld have to start over again cause he's back at full HP....... Between holy shield, extra armor, ardent defender, all that BS that comes with prot, I had him down to 1200-2k quite a few times, but every time he would get a HoJ off on me and heal back up with
2 flash of lights

I'm so glad that this spec isn't really viable in PvP(requires you to cast all heals making it horrible to heal more than just yourself), because it's a very, very horrible opponent for 1v1, at least against melee....
Oh, I forgot to mention. The rating change was null. Yet our team rating went down and our PR's stayed the same.... GG Blizz!

I've faced a couple of these prot-healy types. I haven't had any real issue beyond the initial surprise of ZOMG AVENGER SHIELD!11!.
Perhaps they give you a bit more trouble since your dps is entirely physical based, whereas I run with a warlock that just DoTs them up and laughs maniacally.
My main issue in 2s seems to be the rogue/priest comp (double dps can be painful too). Is it me, or was mana burn buffed when 3.10 came out? Either way, rogue/priest looks like its heading the way Paladin/deathknight did.

Only because priest survival is now doubled with self Penance. I'm pretty sure mana burn is the same as it was, you just didn't notice it as much before.
We've actually been handling priest/rogue teams. Warlock DoT's the priest and sicks fel pup on it. I hit him with a pounce/nuke/maim/nuke rotation on zerker and he's dead before the rogue realizes his priest is in danger. It's really funny how Corr, CoA and a dispelling/silencing pet is enough to push my zerker burst over the top to kill healers now.
I agree tho about this lame pally. If he was smart and went SoCorr, he might have killed me...

I don't think Shockadin spec works anymore. I have not seen any shockadin OMFG-to-much-mana paladins since the begining of S6, I do not think it is advisable to run shockadin anymore, the spec has somehow been nerfed. Or perhaps I still need to hit 1900 again.

Was dueling one of these last night as ret, and let me tell you.. there was nothing more annoying. My plan was to burst him to force him to start healing himself and run himself oom.. but it didn't work because of dam 100% uptime on Divine Plea.
Everytime I managed to get him low on HP he'd right click his DP and get off a quick Holy Light and be back at full
. I eventually just gave him up. The only con to this build though is it's still as week as ever against Mages and Destro Locks. IMO.. it's just broken mechanics.
This was my problem. I had him down to 400 mana a few times. But he'ld just DP/holy shield/judgement of light. I was trying to figure out how he went from 400 mana to 12k mana in such a short time....
And the stam to spell power bonus makes their flash of lights hit larger than holy spec flash of lights.

Actually, since I read the chain DP issue, I haven't had problems with these guys. I even killed one just yesterday 1v1. He pops DP, I cyclone him and restealth. The other one beat me because I didn't know about that talent that makes DP infinite.... That + 20 sec CD on HoJ makes it tough if you don't know the spec. But, once you know about DP, you can CC him, kite till DP goes away, and then get back on him. They use a ton of mana to keep themselves alive so if you counter DP, it's over. Not to mention they have to cast their heals because they lack holy shock. This is a major flaw in the spec. It leaves them wide open to interupts and CC(can't dodge or block while casting, and you have to cast. =).
