The problem with lightwell is not the spell itself or the amount for which it heals.
The problem is that it requires non healers to use it to heal themself.
I have been unsuccessful at this point getting the raid to make decent use of this spell, nonetheless I throw it out there at the beginning and middle of each boss fight in the off-shoot chance that someone might want to try it.

Problem is so many people have trained themselves to just ignore lightwells because of how awful they were before. Now they're the best healing to mana ratio spell out there. I just tend to drop lightwells in the center of where a bunch of casters are parked for a fight, that way its right in front of them and they don't have to move so it gets used more often.

My raiders are relatively smart and although it' taken me months and months of training them... They now know how to use a lightwell properly and...
wait for it...
It's effing amazing.
Two reasons:
1) Heals and you don't even have to pay attention! Slap one down by the melee group and watch your ranged more carefully
2) Drop one down as Holy, Respec to Disco... Drink for 30 seconds... Bam you have FREE LIGHTWELL for the first 2 minutes of your fight AND you're disco!

Zomg, really? I have to try this! It's such a hassle to respec and have to recast Prayer of Spirit and Fort because the buffs get wiped, but lightwell staying up is fun!
On topic, I really like Lightwell in the XT-robot fight during tympanic tantrum. If you keep everyone grouped, they can click Lightwell at the start, and you can CoH, HN, and PoH for serious healing power.
The problem with Lightwell has always been getting people to take a second to click it. Whether you can get people to do that or not really depends on your raid.

ah yes! you caught me before I said it too. The XT Fight is one of the best fights to use it on. Have one down by the tank and the Melee, have them all in the same party and everyone is happy!

I don't know if it is lightwell itself that is the culprit. Warlock Healthstones are like this too. How many people say "oh yeah, I have one of those."

No, what he's saying is that people have healthstones available, but neglect or forget to use them even unto their unnecessary demise.
