Christianity (and I'm sure other religions) says that you must always say you accept Christ(/respective diety) if you believe, and to deny him(/deity), even in self defence, is a sin.

consequences. Also, in Islam, you can say that you are not a Muslim to defend yourself (in emergencies), some of the early Muslims did so, because they were being tortured.

I did. Its the only way to get it into your head. This goes back to another thread that you have to deal with things as the way they are, not the way they should be.
Just because something is a way doesn't mean it can't be changed.
You, however, seem perfectly fine with the way things are.
