So, I've recently watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and I must say; it is one of the worst pieces of crap that I have ever seen. Mostly because they do not only distort the original Wolverine history, they mutilate it, torture it, take out it's members, rape it, put the members back in in the wrong places, rape it again, torture it a little more, kill it, and then ^&*! on it.
I'm usually okay with movies distorting the original story, so long as the movie itself is good. For example: Hellboy. If you read the comics and then see the movie, you'll see that the history is completely different, but that's okay because the movie, it by itself, is a good one.
The above mentioned abomination doesn't have that to fall back upon, and it got me thinking, is the original version (let it be a book, a comic, or another movie) always better than the movie version?
/Discuss.

Don't even try to tell me the Deadpool fight wasn't awesome.
Anyways, it wasn't meant to be a serious story teller, it was meant to be an action movie with wolverine... and it succeeded in that aspect.

It's not a good movie. Even if we ignore the whole original history thing, there is nothing special about it. Deadpool fight? If I wanted to see awesome fights were people with sword-like weapons jump around I'll go rent Star Wars.

I figured that comparison would be made... and IMO I thought that movie had better fights than most of the Star Wars movies.

The only real fight in the movie is the Deadpool one, the rest is just humiliation.
The only good part of the movie is the very beginning where you see Victor and Logan fighting in various wars through out time.

What is this thread about? Comparing old movies to their remakes?
Discussing if the original version is always better than the movie. Example: are the LotR books better than the LotR movies?
