Yeah, this addon has been floating around for a few months. In my humble opinion, it should only be used by those who aren't comfortable with their rotation, as a guildline, not as a cheat-sheet. It is not 100% accurate all the time.
When I first rolled Feral DPS, this helped alot, but eventually I had to say goodbye to it to up my DPS on fights like patchwerk and any other stationary boss. Sometimes there are just better ways to use your energy.

I'm pretty similar to Mopman, I've never rolled a 100% pure cat dps spec, the only time I do Cat form PvE is when I'm not need to Tank / OT... Facemauler seems to make sure I do pretty well. I'm not very experienced in cat DPS, but even I can see the shortcomings. I think its a great tool for learning and practicing, but its like training wheels -- Eventually it will just be holding you back and you'll have to get rid of it to excel.

I've seen some pretty bad feral dps from people. This will at least help the average quality of feral dps in pugs.

I imagine using this is a good hands on training for those of us who can't figure out kitty dps. :p
Uninstall when you know what to do.

I remember there being an addon similar to this a few years ago, FeralFighter i think it was called, although what that did was set up 1 button that would rip/claw/shred and then FB/Rip depending on how much hp the target had.
Anyway, Ive just downloaded this, since im only 73 and still learning kitty (Until yesterday i hadn't been DPS to an instance since deadmines) So this will be a great help to me. And as Afoxi said, once i know what to do, I'll give it a shot without the addon.

And using something that tells what and when to do is going to be a good training method? No. Learn the mechanics, learn what each cat specific ability does and figure out the DPS method. Detailed explanations can be read on forums like this. But without an in-depth understanding (and mind you, it's not at all rocket science, it's about 6 abilities out of which three generate CP and three use CP - Mangle, Rake, Shred, Savage Roar, Rip and Ferocious Bite - and have specific influences over each other), a player of feral DPS still isn't going to know what gear to choose, how to enchant it, how to DPS intelligently, all because he doesn't know
why
. That is why we have those training dummies in capital cities - to practice the basic DPS theories and develop the reflexes necessary to use them in an active raid environment, where one must also pay attention to what's going on around, avoid hazards, stay alive - besides trying to perform an optimal DPS cycle.
Facemauler is one of those "for dummies" type applications. For lazy players. Or for players that simply lack the attention span to monitor the boss + the environment (for both hazards and potential buffs) and still DPS as close to optimal as possible at the same time.
Good players know
why
they do what they do and make their own decisions.
note: I am not bashing those that use addons; I only tried to point out the benefits of learning to play instead of playing mechanically following indications.

Actually the original intention of the addon was to provide help getting used to the rotation of the kitteh since it is very very complex. It's intention was to get people used to the rotation and point them in the correct direction as to which skill to use next (Read: build muscle memory and direct the mind towards reacting in a beneficial way to dps in a given situation). It was designed to be used along side knowledge of WHY the skills are used and when to use them. As such, I feel, this should be endorsed as a trainer only.
It is at it's core a rotation trainer and nothing more. In fact it is a rewrite of a similar Ret pally addon.

I can understand what Aadramelekh is saying, just aswell im using it for an entirely different reason now, ive been DPS to 1 instance since I entered NR, and because im alot more used to tanking/healing, I see no point figuring out how to play kitty simply because I have no need to, I intend to tank or heal at 80, and if the occurence does come around where ill need to DPS, I'll most likely respec boomkin, since It's alot easier and safer on my part. with the use of this addon I can do decent dps without groups kicking me because im not doing my job.

I could see defending this Add-on if the Cat "rotation" was extremely hard to pull off or something.
If you don't main Feral and don't plan to, then sure use it, but if not... the cat DPS, like almost everything in WoW, is pretty damn simple. It's all about the time you want to put into it.

That's the thing... it IS difficult for a large number of people as is shown by the large amount of "Mangle/FB spammers". As I said use it as a trainer to get used to it if your going to be feral for long.

It's one of the hardest in the game actually. Perhaps you need a harder game :).
