Okay, I've noticed a few things. ((all of these numbers are just an example))
1. If I solo an elite mob on an instance I get about 300xp
2. If an level 80 runs me I get about 80xp from that mob
3. If my friend comes in with me and the level 80 I get more xp from that mob, about 100xp
4. If the 80 leaves and me and my friend solo that elite mob I get more xp than with the level 80, but less than if I did it myself.
How does this work? I origionally thought that is was the average level, but if me and my friend are the same level, then the average level is the same. I'm really confused...

Xp depends on character levels and is split among all players in the group. See
