Imp > Succi for leveling. Succi doesn't scale well until end game (when you start getting excessive amounts of spellpower on your gear). It is possible that Succi can out DPS the imp if you are using Heirloom items, I have not tested.
EDIT: By the way, I used the voidwalker when leveling and had no threat problems whatsoever.

2 Affliction specs while leveling is nasty... the mobs you could drain tank is just silly.
I remember leveling up and running with another afflic spec'd lock and we would drain tank 10 mobs (depending on level) at a time; sometimes more.
And it was really funny when a rogue would try to gank us :D
Just have one of you run with a succy out and one with a felhunter out and you can laugh at anything.

The Sucubbus is good for drain tanking, if that's still a viable method of grinding. And if you are drain tanking, it's the Felhunter > Imp, but you don't get him until later.
Demo locks don't drain tank.

Well you've got me there. I missed the point where we shifted from the leveling guide to solely discussing Demo Warlocks.
Orly?
Okay so the general opinion so far is to have one go demo for the improved voidwalker so we can't out threat him, while the other goes affliction. Once we get passed the VW pick up the felguard and use the affliction lock to pick up the mobs and have the felguard just beat the *!@# out of them?
I wouldn't bother using the VW. His threat generation is pathetic... like really pathetic. I would probably choose to use the Succubus over the VW.
...
Very sure we were discussing which pet he, leveling as Demo with an affliction partner, should use. With improved Voidwalker, Torment and Suffering cause more than enough threat to keep aggro off of you. Succubus simply doesn't do enough damage (also doesn't provide any passive bonuses and cannot tank) to out DPS the Imp, and unless you are playing Affliction the Felhunter's DPS is lacking as well.

As for the VW's threat generation, seriously? If you haven't noticed, any discussion about the VW's threat has shown that he isn't capable of holding aggro once you get a few ticks from CoA going. Mix that with whatever filler you decide and he's surely not going to get aggro back.
I've leveled warlocks with my VW. Actually, he holds threat very well. I start with DoTs, then nuke the mobs down. He rarely loses threat, and if he does, it's just as the mob dies.

I leveled with mr. voidy as well (until lvl 50 ofc when I got my FG). He held aggro just fine, until lvl 45ish.
My rotation was CoA, corr, immo, life tap and drain life back in those days.

Level as Affliction till 71, then respec to
21/41/0
... this is the best leveling build of them all (not only among warlock's ones but really among ALL)
The best advice in this thread.
