Disco priest pre-naxx gearing ?

So I've finally decided to make a disc priest for PvE purposes. Prob gonna roll a lot of PvP also but that's a different thing.
Anyway, i have a question about pre-naxx gearing (heroic/crafted/rep..): should i focus more on thoughput or regen? All caster items have int(, stamina), and SP, so the choice is between crit&haste and spirit&mp5.
Any good answer from raiding disc priests or constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Crit procs is your main stat for healing, because Divine Aegis uptime will be one of your main concern for healing.
Also you got enough haste for the moment (Enlightenment, Borrowed Time), when you got some nice crit (like 25%) then try to pick up some haste.
Haste is easily soft capped at 8-10% and is a nice stat but not a main concern. It can help a lot at that point(soft cap) because your flash heals will be ~1.0 seconds with borrowed time.
I believe spirit and Mp5 are equal depending on the item. A lot of people preference spirit, but thats because Mp5 is a hard to get stat and for some reason always cost more item budget. Atm for me 4 spirit is 1 mp5, for you it will be ~3 spirit. You don't get anything else form spirit and you won't be out casting a lot during fights. So just compare with a mod like Ratingbuster which item has the better Mp5. It doesn't matter if the source is "raw" mp5 or spirit.
In any case int will be your main regen stat and just keep a nice amount of spirit with a few slots Mp5 until you don't need mana regen anymore.

The reason (IMO) crit is less valuable than haste for most disc priests is that PW:S cannot crit, is an amazing ability, and only scales with SP, and haste (until you have ~550 from gear) reduces your GCD so you can get more shields applied.
If you don't value PW:S heavily, crit and int are disc in a nutshell, but as it is, PW:S is #$@!#ing amazing, and if you gear for it and use it aggressively it can be 35-40% of your healing done without breaking a sweat(or costing much mana at all).
PS - If I forgot to mention, PW:S is amazing, forget what "the meters" say about it.
You don't only use PWS. Penance can crit, Flash heal can crit. Both crit a lot and build Divine Aegis, you other shield. The problem of haste it's so easily capped and offers so less after capped except making talents worse. ;P
I don't think the arguments "shields cannot crit" or "1.0 flash heals don't benefit from haste" are valid reason to ignore crit/haste. But in general you need a lot more crit(40%) then haste(15%), so crit would be your first focus.

I agree with these numbers, but the logic behind my reasoning is that a disc priest is already a crit machine no matter what you do (most raiding disc priests are critting 35-55% of their heals anyway), and haste is relatively hard to come by. Borrowed Time drops the GCD quite a bit, and the extra haste icing on the cake really can make a disc priest the most impacting healer in any raid. The difference between a 1.2 and a 1.0 GCD is 20% more people shielded, 20% more healing done(less healing needed) for 30 seconds. That adds upwhen a raid is definitely going to take damage.
40% crit is a pretty good spot to be at, but really, if you've raided as disc and looked at your Fheal/Penance/etc crit numbers, aren't you already doing 35-45% crits?
Don't go to far now. We are talking about gearing up for heroics, not Ulduar raids. This guy is going to see a lot less numbers and is getting a lot less buffs until much later.
But in any before I start talking further I don't understand this:
Also, penance, flash heal are very useful, but PW:S blows them away in terms of HPM/HPS/MP5 and overhealing.
I don't think playstyle is as big a factor in raid healing as disc. If you are doing your job at all, you can't shield fast enough.
Also - Flash healing is the biggest waste of Borrowed Time. Ever.
My 2 cents.
Clearly you heal in a really different way. =/
I do something in the line of pws -> penance -> fh -> pws -> fh -> fh. So 66% of all my flash heals get borrowed time and 100% of my penances. I cannot really put more shields into it because of weakened soul. I guess you try to keep the same rotation in heroics because with that rotation you shield about 3-4 people every 15 seconds.
In some
rare
fights I use BT for PoH or I spam shields but those fights are
rare
and mostly I do it because other options don't work. Like there is no tank to heal or aoe healers died or I need to run a lot.
I know there are raid healing Disc Priest out there, but I am not one of them and I don't think a raid healing style fits in a heroic. I guess you are more of the raid healing kind? Or what are you? And how do you heal then? =p

Thanks for all these answers, they were very helpful!
But my main questions remains unanswered:
I know what stats to chose for thoughput and for regen, the thing is that i don't know how to bias them pre-naxx. How much regen should i stack before going to nax?
Basically, what are the "required" stats for a disc priest for entering nax?
Basicaly, spirit/mp5 gear vs haste/crit gear.
PS - I should stack haste ~11%, with raid buffs and talents (inc. borrowed time) that makes is 1 sec GCD which is basically the hit cap for healers. That's what i understand at least..

What he said.
skill > gear
This is why we have healers in full valorous who heal worse than people who showed up in all blues.
