just to pre-warn you, i do not have wow yet but i am getting it next week or so, I plan on making a Night Elf Rogue and want to know what skills/talents/stat max/equipment/quests whatever i need and need to know on making a rogue that is awesome for PVE 1st and PVP 2nd. I want to try and make the character a crit fiend (having the highest Critical Rating possible) while still maintaining a decent character. Would someone please help me with information or links to similiar threads or Sites with info. PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

are rogues even the best for critical hit damage? i mean what can they even do? i know they have good poisons and stuns (maybe?) plus they can sneak around and stuff. but their also very low tier when it comes to raides and are more geared for PVP than anything else. Should i even be a rogue? I really just want to be more like a fighter than can hide and crit really high but i heard that fighters got nerffed and can do anything now, they can even tank effectively.

since you are new, you may want to retool your thinking. When you say crit, i think you mean burst damage. That means lots of damage very quickly.
also, try a few classes before you take off, read about a few of them on these forums and on the world of warcraft website. Rogues are fun if you enjoy playing a rogue. Just try it for yourself.
rogues are "geared" (i think you mean itemized) for both PVP and PVE equally, though they are very different ways of playing a rogue.
From an RP perspective, a PVP rogue is much more sneaky, agile, surprising, and plays dirty. The term "never hit a man while he's down" is exactly what rogues like to do. Disable, then kill. A PVE rogue is much more aggressive, and precise, you can think about it like someone who knows where to hit, to make it hard, not just to swing as hard as you can. Go for the gut, flank the ribs, bleed the victim, and poison them down.
Your primary abilities to some degree should reflect these approaches. Whatever you, just have fun, don't be aggro.
