Arena Professions change

Hi, I've been saving up to pummel all my money into a new profession for arena. I was going to go Engineering for the
nitro boosts
, but since they're not allowed in arena anymore I can't think of the benefit of having more instant cast spells (which seems to be the only perk of engineering), especially as I'm a mage and casting is kinda what I do.
I'm staying Enchanting and dropping Tailoring (chance of 250 spellpower on cast is not my fave prof perk).
In this case what would you recommend? Is Engineering really that good?

You'd have to be insane to take up Engineering right now coz the only thing you get is the glove haste or the rocket thingie.Which basically sucks.
Go for Jewelcrafting since it's definitely the best arena proff to have.

I would probably still level engineering, hand rockets/haste on gloves are pretty nice. I am assuming you are a mage, and one of the things that mages really need in arena is haste, an extra on-use haste effect is great for you.

I've been reading the
professions guide
and JC is tempting, basically giving me a 39 Spell Power buff over regs... that on use haste with
Hyperspeed Accelerators
is what could swing it for engineering. It gives me the potential to stack
Icy Veins
and
Platinum Disks of Swiftness
. Which is a significant buff, if only for 10 seconds of my life.
