If you act like an !@#$%^& all of the time, if all you do is lie and deceive, people are not going to like you, and you'll get that kind of behavior thrown right back at you.
That's the only form of Karma I believe in, but it's actually called psychology.

People do what they can get away with.
They also do what they can't. Everyone has a moral code, whether you want to seem like you don't or not, you do have one, Skreeran. Those who don't are murderers, or something along the lines of one, most say sick mentally. Which is true in some cases, but is it really insanity or a loss of morals and care?

Like I said before, I do not value human life beyond what I'm imprinted to (for instance, I really do love my mother, but that's about it).

You still have a moral code, otherwise what is stopping you from shooting your neighbor because he has a bigger t.v. then you? I'm being brash, but to make a point.

They don't like you for that. They
act
like they like you, so they can ride along. They're just using you as well.

The fear of consequences. If I was absolutely sure that I would get away with it, I could see myself doing that.

Well that's clearly a lie. Otherwise you'd have mutilated any that may pose any threat to you so far. You must hold some value of life to humans, including those not related to you.I don't want to get arrested yet, otherwise how would I become a virologist?

Edit: We both know you wouldn't kill your neighbor for having a bigger TV than you even if you could get away with it. I sincerely doubt you're a sociopath.Really? You know me that well? I'd kill him just for the hell of it if I could. However, I have bigger plans in life and they don't involve being stuck in jail for the rest of my life. At least not yet.

Skreeran, I'd honestly like to see you in the situation, I'd doubt you'd pull the trigger. You think you've got a pretty good idea of yourself, but that's all it is. Is an idea.

Skreeran
Well, I haven't killed anyone yet, of course there would be hesitation, it's biological, but I'm trying to eliminate that. Your first kill is always the hardest.

It's cute how you're trying to impress upon as that you have the ability to pull the trigger on an innocent.

Pardon? It is an ability that if I do not possess, I would like to. I don't value human life on principle, so I desire to eliminate any hesitation that I would have.
Besides, they're already dead anyway.

If your money runs out, they'll just drop you and look for someone else to use.
I have lived a part of my life thinking like you. Then I was kicked out of my house, lost all my money, all of my friends, and was forced to live on the streets. I had nobody that wanted to help me, because it turned out all of my so called friends where just using me as bad as I was using them. It forced me to look upon myself, and realized I got what I deserved. It forced me to re-evaluate my moral standards.
I actually have
real
friends now, people that will cover for me if I'm in trouble, help me out if I have nothing left, and, judging on what they have done for me so far, would actually be willing to die for me, as I would for them (and no, it's not a gang or cult. We're just friends). All of this I achieved with nothing more then being completely honest in
all
things, and never doing anything to someone else that I would not want to happen to myself. They helped me build up my live again, and it's pretty good so far and been like this for about eight years.
I see more benefit in that then in egoistic behavior.
edit: (a sidenote)
My motivation is exactly the same as yours. What I benefit the most from. My path is just different, because I believe having people I can rely on to have my back benifts me more.

3DG4L1FE, I've come to the conclusion Skreeran is an idiot and that this conversation is pointless to an ignorant, egotistical mind, do you concur?
