Were you incapable of reading the stickies?
If your going to be doing PVP then you want a PVP build. You'll figure out that most builds can be used to solo. If your in an affl PVP build and doing dailies then you can just dot mobs and run. There wont be a vialble build that can be used in all instances of the game. Locks are lucky in that we are simply dps class so we can have specs for both PVP and PVE which can easily be found in the stickies. People spent time making them, so you dont have to.
All im saying is most specs are viable to get you by on your day to day stuff. Whether its PVP or PVE.

Don't worry about it till 80. There are no "good builds" until 80, and using anything but SiLi/FG while leveling is only slowing yourself down.

I obviously can read the stickies, as I have quoted that I am using the cookie cutter build for my instancing build. But thanks for the minor flame any way.
What I am after is, ( maybe I should have put it in a more simplistic way) a spec that can be good for all, but not outstanding in any 1. A sort of generic build that will allow me a little flexability in my daily running around northrend, doing dalies, a spot of PVP and some solo questing.
There are so many builds in the stickies, Afflic/Demo/Destro and all the Hybrids. After several 1000 G I may be able to decide my self after trying them all. Not really a viable direction, so I would like to use other peoples experiance to see what they have to say on the matter.
Sorry for sounding like such a ^&*!. All i was trying to say is that there is no perfect way of playing the game. Having a spec that dabbles in PVP and PVE spells/talents is pointless, it will be very inefective in both instances. Either a PVP spec or PVE will suffice for dailies/questing etc. PVP specs will unable you to sustain more damage in fight and improve your CC abilities, where as with a PVE spec like FG/Ember for instance, you are able to pump out alot of damage on mobs before they attack you as your felgaurd will have held most of the threat up to your first Inc hit.
There is no perfect way of doing it, it will depend on your play style at 80. But as someone above said, dont worry about this tilll your 80 and have had time to dabble in end game specs.
Again, my appolgies for being mean.
