- I highly recommend combat for fast leveling.
- Combat can benefit from any weapon(unlike Assassination needing daggers). Combat also doesn't rely on stealth(sub+assassination) and doesn't need to wait on energy regen(assassination).
- Combat does fine for some BGs as long as you aren't planning on rolling over twink premades.
- Combat can be great DPS as long as you keep up your rotation(like the other two specs)

I'd do something like that for level 37. Avoid riposte. Get talents that let you kill faster
-Combat doesn't work nearly as well with daggers as it does with other weapons. At your level there are two swords you can get that will last you a very long time.

Riposte is 4 points you can put into more useful things.

It's 4 points perfectly suited for leveling. You might not like it, but that's how it is.

I've tried with and without Riposte. It doesn't make a difference when things die within a few seconds. Maybe in Northrend, though I didn't kill things any slower compared to outland on my other characters...

Riposte as well as the 6% parry is very handy to pick up while leveling, because 6% more avoidance is pretty neat against any melee type of mob. Riposte itself got buffed a while back when we got a seperate cooldown for a disarm (yay for that) and instead made Riposte apply a nice debuff.
Basicly Riposte is a stronger and cheaper version of SS (40 energy vs 10 energy) since it also adds a combo point. I remember when Riposte didn't award combo point, I always hoped for it to be buffed, and it was :)
With the extra 6% parry it should proc fairly often. Makes your 'rotation' more fun as well.

And the Riposte got even better for my sword spec when I got
Sang'Thraze the Deflector
And this is relavent to what? No. riposte did not get any better, you just got a new sword.
That is all. The talent got better, yes.
The sword makes it proc more often.
