A good combustion

-Does combustion do more damage if you refresh LB before doing combustion or is it the same if a LB is already ticking?
-Most of us know about ignite+pyro(DoT)+LB, but does the Frostfire bolt debuff add to combustion? Does this mean Frostfire glyphed mages are likely to have bigger combustions?
Please share some tips on getting a good combustion.

It does the same whether LB has been ticking or if you renew it. FFB debuff does add to combustion if it is glyphed, but not many have it glyphed because they use
Charred Glyph
,
Glyph of Crittermorph
,
Charred Glyph
or
Charred Glyph
. Not real sure but last I heard is that Fireball does a little more dps then FFB, glyphed that is, so you can use either as it won't matter. It is probably best to look at Elitist Jerk and see what they have theorycrafted.

The trick is to make sure the following conditions are met:
Pyroblast is ticking
Living Bomb is ticking
You have a fresh ignite from a big crit, such as from a Fireball or Pyroblast
The last condition is a real biatch due to ignite munching and the delay Combustion has, as it can easily turn your 9k DPS Combustion into a 3k DPS Combustion without you really being able to do anything about it.
4.1 will make the use of Combustion a lot easier, but it will eat away a little bit of our overall damage.
PS: If you don't already have it you may want to take a loot at the
CombustionHelper
addon. It will pretty much tell you everything you need to know
except
whether your current ignite is a "good" one.

You don't really need to wait on the pyroblast for a "good" combustion opportunity, as pyro only makes up 10% of the dot's damage. Waiting for a hot streak proc in a boss situation just isn't the way to put out optimal dps usually. In an AoE situation which warrants hard-casting pyro might be optimal, but every situation is relative.A simple decent crit from a fireball will suffice.

The reason people don't use glyph of Frostfire bolt is because of
This
However there have been some discussion about the 4.1 patch notes regarding:
Ignite: Your critical strikes from non-periodic Fire damage spells cause the target to burn for an additional 40% of your spell's damage over 4 sec.
So FFB will probably be a dps increase over fireball in 4.1

This. FFB and FB are (in DPS terms) quite close right now, mainly because FFB dot is another dot added into combustion/another dot always ticking. While it's true that it's not a STRONG dot, it's a dot, and "makes up" for the 5% crit on the FB glyph when you reach a high enough crit. Unfortunately, that entire debate is worthless because of ignite munching. FFB dot omnoming off your FB/Pyro crit right before you combust can really screw you.
Also, Dave, good examples of when the hard pyro and when not to:
Maloriak Green Phase: NO. Get up what combustion you can, you don't have much time. If your group has heavy AoE, consider not using it at all, since it may not run it's full duration.
Maloriak black phase: These adds have a LOT of health, and way more time in which they can die. Hard Pyro is arguably worth it here.
Halfus pre-change: Definitely, Roll the fat ignites/combustions on those whelps, the bigger the better, why not.
Halfus post-change: Nah. Just combust a fireball crit, the difference will be slight at best, a damage decrease at worst.

Uh you misunderstood, I am not confused when to hard pyro. Also, the majority of your assessments coincide with my above mentioned conclusion. No too sure what your point was but, hey thanks for the advice...i guess.
