Our Mission
To progress through the raid content in World of Warcraft, having some fun, and making some friends along the way.
What this guild is
We are a raiding guild, that’s what we are built to do (at least in terms of our game objective).
We are a “family” (well, gaming one anyway).
We will strive to be efficient, progressing at a steady pace, and minimizing continuous farming of the same bosses as much as possible.
We will run 5 man instances within the guild, especially in the early going (though, again, this won’t be the primary focus)
We may dabble in PvP, but it’s not our primary focus
We are a good fit for folks who spend 10-20 hours a week in the game
We aim to be your long-time home, not just some rotating group of players cycling through guilds.
What this guild is not
We will not be racing to start raiding when the expansion is released, a tentative goal, is to be raiding within 3 months of release.
We are not a guild for whiners, there will be no complaining about the game, and it’s mechanics. We’ll make due with the constraints the game gives us, there’s no point crying about things we can’t change.
We are not a great fit, for players spending 30+ hours a week in the game.
We are not here to serve your individual needs, we are here to serve the guild’s mission (see top).
We are not here to gear you up, we are here to gear the guild up, our guild’s progression depends on it.
Raids
we will be doing 10 man raid content
will occur between 8:30 and 11:00 CST (may start as early as 8:00 at some point)
will occur 2 or 3 nights a week
for a total of 5-8 hours a week
members are expected to attend 80% of raids
Guild Composition
Members must be working adults, no college kids, or younger.
Members should strive to understand their class, and it’s gear needs.
Looking to have around 13-14 members.
Alt’s are allowed, but not for raiding, and you cannot switch your main character except when a new expansion pack is released.
Previous raid experience is desirable.
Any Friends are welcome in the guild, but not guaranteed a spot in raids automatically.
Brief History
Heroes Inc started in the summer of 2006, and went on Hiatus in the summer of 2009 (with the birth of my son). We initially focused on PvP, then moved to 20/25 man raids, and eventually into 10 man raids when those were released. I personally played WoW from open beta, up until that time. I ran all aspects of the guild, from recruitment, to raids.
Since then, I’ve played other games, but have been drawn back to WoW because I really missed sitting down with a group of friends to kill some bosses. I missed the friendships, and the sense of accomplishment that came with progressing as a guild.
The Process
Here’s the deal, we have no official server or faction. As a guild we’ll determine where we’re going, and which server we are going to play before the release of the expansion pack. So this means some people may be re-rolling from scratch (unless everyone is paying for transfers, which I’m not requiring). This means members have to be open minded. It also means members have to be a little patient, we won’t be rushing to raid as soon as humanly possible. I personally see this as a positive, it seems like often players are forced to rush through levelling, and the 5 man instances when an expansion pack is released. These things are fun too, and being under pressure to rush through them spoils it. At some point, we will have to step back and say “ok guys, we’re going to push to start raiding on XX date”, but that’s going to be more lenient than most guilds (Let’s tentatively say, within 3 months of release)
What makes us special
Well, I ran a guild of mature adults for several years in the past. We were successful at progressing through raids, and a lot of great friendships were formed within. Many of those friendships are still in place today. I’m in a good position to not only build this situation again, but to improve on it, as I’ve learned a lot over the years.
