First off, being so upset that another man won't open up to you is kind of weird. If you suspect theres a serious problem with him be there and available to talk, but otherwise back off and don't push him.
That being said new roommates can often get like this, hanging out with somebody and living with them are two very different matters and its natural for people to get on each others nerves.
