Tell em to stop being a bunch of emo little tards.
It's HCs ffs, not Ulduar or ToC....
personally I would say "yea np I'll finish this one, and come with you guys if you want".
If that's not good enough, i just continue on my own.
I have a mate on skype most nights of teh week, and we would like to more, but probably only get to play together 1-2 nights a week (due to different guilds/raids ect), and even when we do have time, if I say naa i cba to do that, he wouldnt go emo at me, neither would i in the reverse situation.
We play the game for enjoyment (no matter how serious we take progress), and dont get %^&*y cause one cant accomodate the other, thats life, get used to it.

If these are RL friends you have an issue bigger than you are going to be able to resolve in wow-context happily. If they are wow-friends, this could be your one-time learning experience in what never to let a guild dictate to you - when and how you play. It is understood that being saved to a raid is one thing (though in this day of pug raids, maybe not for raids your guild no longer runs), but unless there is prior understanding on what you will run in-guild, do what you want to do and let them come to you if they want to formalize or at least make a more detailed arrangement on what you can count on the guild for running with you.
