I have this plugin for Cartographer, and was wondering if anyone knows how to modify its code to allow the Northrend gas clouds to be marked as well as the Outland ones. I feel like I might be able to do it, but not with my limited knowledge of Lua and C++, and my nonexistant knowledge of making and changing addons.

Cartographer's dying, and that module is long dead. You'd just be applying bandages to a dead soldier. Get GatherMate + GatherMateData.

Aren't people helpful? I ask a question about adding on to one of my mods, and someone's kind enough to tell me that what I feel would be best is a bad idea... At least this is Wowhead and not the community forums, where I'd get a 5-page flame.

I'm kind of surprised it actually made it into WotLK. There was a lot of talk on the wowace forums about it not being around. The 3.0 (google maps-like) version was what was supposed to be getting further development. It didn't support any of the more useful features so no one wanted to use it. I guess that's why he did the 2.5 release.
Gathermate and Gatherer both work all you need to do is import their latest database dumps. They should both show the gas clouds.

I use Gatherer, and I'm not sure about it recording gas clouds... I keep my addons updated through WoWMatrix, could that be why they're not recording?
