Affliction Warlock Shadowlands Dilemma

Okay, my main is a Goblin Blood Death Knight and I found it fitting for him to join Revendreth from a story perspective. My Orc Affliction Warlock is the next character that I want to level, partly because he is my Tailor. Unfortunately, of the Covenants the only two that make sense from a story perspective are Revendreth and Maldraxxus, as I said Revendreth is what I chose for my main and according to what I have read Maldraxxus sucks for an Affliction Warlock.
The question I would like to get community feedback on is should I forgo a decent Covenant power in lieu of the story, or should I give up on story and/or repeated covenants for survivabliity? I like collecting Transmogs and it looks as if I will need to have a Plate, Mail, Leather, and Cloth wearer in each Covenant to get all transmogs. What is the community sentiment?

It really depends if you are hardcore or casual player.
If you aim for clearing high Mythic+ keys or early Castle Nathria Mythic, then you should probably go with covenant that gives your class/spec the biggest advantage possible.
For your affli warlock it should be either
Kyrian
or
Night Fae
according to
Xyronic's guide
- I suggest you onto reading that
But if you don't really care about your damage and speed of progression and you rather enjoy levelling and exploring content, story and lore, you don't really need to worry about choosing covenant that doesn't give you as good stats as Kyrian would for example. You will be fine either way.

Thank you for the feedback. My main may do some Mythic+ or LFR, but all of my alts will only do normal dungeons for quests, and will not do raids until its old content. I primarily play solo so my main concern is survivabliity, so I have been leaning toward forgoing the power, but did not want to make a choice that would hurt that play style in the long run.
