Hi i'm leveled up alchemy before 1 week and didn't know that was specializations ....so i have some questions
1)what is the best money making specialization?(i know differs from server to server)
2)where can i train specializations in cataclysm? There are the same?
*For Elixir Mastery you will need to visit Lorokeem in Shattrath Lower City
*For Potion Mastery you will need to visit Lauranna Thar'well at Cenarion Refuge in Zangarmarsh.
*For Transmute mastery you will need to visit Zarevhi at the Stormspire in Netherstorm
3)the only difference from common alchemy and specialization is that u have change to create an extra item?
4)if u have a specialization how u change it and how much it costs?

My very rough estimate would be 10k. That is if you buy everything from the AH and don't count money you may make back from selling some items.
I just leveled Alch from 450-525 this morning and that alone cost me 4-5k. Granted I didn't always make the cheapest items and made many that I plan to use while leveling from 80-85, including my new
Alchemist's Stone
or give to my alts/guildies. Also I am Elixir specced so I always made elixirs when I could. I ended making Flasks and have put them on the AH for a decent profit. I found the proc rate pretty good despite what I've been reading.
The first 450 will cost at least the same, likely more, and that's if you can even find all the mats on the AH. My recommendation, if you have a herbalist, is to gather the hard to find/expensive herbs yourself. Otherwise you'll waste 1-2k a few times while leveling for just a few points.

1) If you make your own flasks, or use a lot of potions in raids, then the corresponding mastery would be the best money saver. If you don't raid a ton or you don't need to make a lot of consumables, then go transmute for extra volatiles/truegold/whatever.
2) They are the same.
3) Yes. You can make all the same items regardless of specialization, you just have a chance to proc an extra of the corresponding item when making them.
4) It costs 200 gold to go to the trainer you initially learned it from, and then go visit the new one. Or something like that, I forgot the exact process but it's not very complicated or expensive.
the only bad it's the 1 day cd.. i mean ok my server truegold is sold for 700g average...materials costs 200-300=400 minimun g. and if u transmute for example 4 more u get (5 total truegolds) 4*700+400=3200g in 1 day and then nothing from alchemy (and if u multicreate truegolds... if not?)
is it worth it?
And 1 more primal might for quest costs 500 g per item and u need 4 =2000g for specialization.. wtf? is it worth it?

Im making quite alot of gold myself with transmutation mastery @ truegold and left-over volatile of life which I use to craft flasks for AH. The only thing I have to do is to farm herbs for the life. Pyrium bars are pretty cheap on my server and its not unusal to find 3 for below 40 gold in total, I can life with that expense if that means I dont have to looking for veins aswell >.>

If you are patient, you can easily level up alchemy (trans) at a profit. Simply do volatile life to volatile air one time a day for a skill up. (park your character in Uldum). Even if you get no trans procs, on my server air costs 3 times as much as life.. and you will get one skillup a day for a month.
I would also highly recommend you gather low level herbs yourself. There are zones that are just loaded with them and it takes very VERY little time to have a few stacks to burst up your alchemy.

I was debating making a new character with herbalism, but I don't think I want to wait for that toon to hit higher levels before I can get the real perks I'm looking for.
Since you're already switching professions, you could first pick up herbalism and skill it to max, save all the herbs you collect and then pick up alchemy and use those herbs. Saves at least some of the cost.
You could also check out an alchemy guide with an estimated list of materials needed and gather those before dropping herbalism for alchemy.
It's some extra work of course =P

ok i'm a transmute master now but i have a question.. on alchemy tab has 2 buttons... alchemy and transmute mastery.... i used 5 times alchemy while created truegold and no multiple creation.. is it cause i press alchemy instead of transmute mastery?cause it's kinda stupid that way

Those buttons don't matter. The procs are random and you've just been unlucky.

Myself I’m a Elixir Master. Don’t raid a great deal but I do make and sell potions and flasks on the AH.
I’m not going fast either between 10-15 made per week and I’ve gotten 30k gold in no time.
If I upped the herb gathering I’m pretty sure I could make 10k gold a week without a problem.

A quick note about picking a spec-- do the potion spec quest, then speak with the trainer again to unlearn it, visit the x-mute master, pay 150 gold, and bam, cheap and easy x-mute mastery.
Also, for a leveling guide, I use Tarou WoW guides (google it, I don't like posting links). Sometimes there are things you can make cheaper depending on server AH prices, but if you're farming the herbs yourself, it lets you know
exactly
how many of each you need.
