I know they are removed for most other professions, but do the specializations (transmute, potion or whatever) still work or does everyone have the same chances for procs?

You still need the specializations. Thats why it is best to look for the spec that you need if you are having someone else make something for you.

They still work, ok I have only tested elixir and transmute but those work so I there for assume that potion works to. That said it does feel like the proc is lower then before. Is it the same chanse to proc on all specializations? Don't know. Totally annecdotal evidence; for transmute i had about 1 / 5 proc something extra (mostly just been doing living elements) and for elixir it's something in that area to -- mostly just getting double procs tho.
