My main spec is a 356 ilvl Holy Pally. I'm far from having issue in Heroics and usually doing good in 10man raids so far, tho we are just starting Cata raiding. My healing recount is often between 10 to 12k Hps in raid without having big mana issue.
The thing is I got
Aura Mastery
in my talent tree, as much Holy Pallys have, tho, in the action of healing, I rarely, if not never think of using it. I know it can be good to use when there is Boss doing, for example, heavy fire damage in a phase and you pop
Aura Mastery
while you have Fire resistance aura on but do you guys think its a must to have
Aura Mastery
in you talent tree ?
I know i'll have to find a way to remember about using it more often... maybe with a macro... or else !

Aura Mastery has its uses but its like Lay on Hands. You don't plan on using it but the moments when you do use it correctly can be extraordinary handy.

Woa thanks guys and TKitch for the good examples of when to use it.
Since i created my pally at the end of ICC, I did only like couple of weeks of raiding and im just starting on Cata's raid... so i guess it's a matter of knowing the fights well and then, like Flonnette said, use it correctly. And when the tanks is having heavy physical damage, a good 100% boost of Devotion aura is always a good thing i guess ! :-)
As far as the use of it with the concenrtation aura, I have to pop is "before" the silence effect ? Otherwise if im silenced it will be too late for me to use it ? Must be awesome in arenas i guess !

There are a lot of places to use AM if you time it right. It's a hella powerful CD when used correctly.
Am is probably the biggest AOE damage reduction CD in the game right now. (for fire, shadow, frost)
TKitch gave a bunch of good examples. For you to think of more just ask yourself the following 2 questions.
Is the tank going to take a lot of FForS damage?
Is the group going to take a lot of FFoS damage?
If the answer is yes to either of those. Its a good time to use Aura mastery.
Cheers,
Hat

We have different definition of planning then. Planning is "When boss frenzies, use your cool down". Using Aura Mastery when you recognize AE damage is coming is just the right reaction.

Aura Mastery is basically the RNG version of Divine Guardian for the spell schools it covers. Could do more, could do less, should, on average, do roughly the same.

That's a retarded statement. You don't read up on boss tactics before you do a boss?
It's moronic saying that you can plan using CDs (aura mastery is a CD duuuh) during heavy damage situations but not during AoE situations. They're both equally random/scheduled.
