Val'ran shook his head no, grabbing and raising his ocarina.

"If I was really drunk, I couldn't have played this," Val'ran said, holding the instrument lightly.

"No.. it's.. I...," Val'ran said, starting to trail off in thought.

"Oh," Llynarai mumbled, scratching her jaw and looking back out at the ocean. She felt her cheeks redden, and took another sip of rum.

Val'ran managed to come back into reality with a heavy sigh. He glanced over at Llynarai, feeling himself be mixed with odd emotions as he looked back at the ocarina.

"I'll.. take that as a no..," Val'ran said quietly.

To'ka nodded at his mom and closed his eyes, holding out his hands. He muttered a few nonsense words under his breath as he 'reached' towards the life energy around them, and focused, pushing that energy from within himself to the plant.

"I won't," Val'ran said, "I'm not that intoxicated," he said, knowing last time he had drank until he passed out.

Llynarai glanced at him for a moment before looking away again, feeling her face flush and her chest clench. "Okay then.." she murmured awkwardly, standing up and walking to the railing, taking the rum with her.

"Good job To'ka," Av'ka nodded. "How good does your healing work on yourself?" she asked him once he was finished.

Val'ran slowly got up, holding onto the railing to keep his balance. He kept telling himself he was sober enough, knowing he actually didn't want to seem like he had been drunk after all.

To'ka glowed under her praise, but he was still panting a little from the effort of casting the spell. "It seems to work alright Mom, but it just takes more for me to heal myself then it should." He told her, sitting back and looking at his sisters, wondering who would go next.

Llynarai leaned on the railing sideways, facing Val'ran. She nervously brushed some hair out of her face and took another drink of rum, licking her lips and feeling the soothing burn down her throat.

"The moon ish pretty tonight.." she murmured, glancing up at the sky.

Av'ka nodded, tapping on her tusk. "Ka'va, hun, why don't you come give it a try? Remember... be positive." Tahni sat nervously. She smiled at her brother then turned her attention to her sister, wondering how she would do.

"Aye," Val'ran replied, looking up into the sky for a moment, "but not as much as you..," he said, feeling himself soften, not sure of everything he was feeling.

"Go for it Ka." To'ka said to her quietly and she flashed him a smile before moving over to a plant and swallowed nervously, then held out her hands above it, and the others could see them shaking. She closed her eyes and let out her breath, a light glow appearing around her hands, which grew brighter then suddenly flared, and she cried out, looking down at the charred remains of the planet. "Told ya." She said, looking away from them.

Llynarai laughed quietly and looked down, her cheeks red. She took a deep breath and nervously grabbed his hand, smiling softly at him.

"Don't worry about it Kav, just try again," Av'ka said quietly. "You're focusing too much... you think you can't do it. Just let your mind go blank, and I bet it will come naturally. I know it's tough, but just try once more, kay?" She smiled and reached over, rubbing her back lightly. "You're strong Kav, you can do it."

Ka'va nodded, her eyes narrowing a little and To'ka stifled the laugh that wanted to come out; he had seen that look on his sister's face before. She held out only one hand this time, and closed her eyes, focusing on just putting a small amount of energy into her palm, then pushed gently. For a moment she just sat there, then suddenly opened her eyes as something brushed against her hand; the flower had sprouted up, growing strong and straight.

Llynarai looked at him nervously, her eyes darting back and forth across his face. She nervously wrapped one of her arms under his, resting her hand on his back and brought her lips to his.

"Yes!" Tahni cried, clapping. "Good job Ka'va!"

Av'ka's eyes lit up with happiness and she wrapped her arm around Ka'va's shoulder. "See, what did I tell you? You're stronger than you think you are kiddo," she smiled, kissing her on the cheek.

Val'ran pressed his lips to Llynarai's as well, his eyes closed. He nervously put his arm around her side, feeling his heart rate increasing.

"I guess.." Ka'va muttered and passed out. Tova chuckled and moved over to her, lifting his daughter up. "I'll put her up in her room, between the first burst and that one, I think she drained herself." He said, and went inside, Miri looking after him for a minute, then clambered into To'ka's lap to watch Tahni's turn next.

Llynarai wrapped her arms around Val'ran, her heart racing in her chest as she pulled herself close to him. She kissed him deeply, totally lost in the moment.

Av'ka nodded and watched Tova carry their daughter into the house. Tahni groaned and was biting her nails nervously.

"Come on Tiger, you're next," Av'ka smiled, patting the ground beside her. Tahni nervously stood up, taking deep breaths. "Don't stress yourself out," Av'ka smiled. "Remember what I said to Ka'va."

Tahni closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She tried to feel the energy around them, but... she just couldn't. She struggled harder, reaching out and hoping she'd find something. She opened one eye and looked at her mom. "It's hard.." she whimpered.

Av'ka nodded and put her hand on Tahni's shoulder. "Just try... don't think."

The teenager closed her eyes again and tried to shut everything off. After a few moments, her mind was clear, and she just focused on pulling energy from... somewhere. She opened her eyes and her hands were softly glowing. Tahni concentrated hard, and managed to uncurl some of the leaves and make them slightly greener. She sighed, wiping sweat off her forehead.

"Good job Tahni," Av'ka smiled. Tahni frowned and sucked on her bottom lip. "No, I hardly did anything.."

Av'ka shook her head and smiled at her, leaning forward and kissing her on the forehead. "No hun, you did. It's a start, just keep practising." Tahni nodded and staggered to her original seat, feeling tired.
