She got jumpy when she saw the bolt and accidentally caused a tree's roots to began grasping around for whatever had fired it. Once she regained her composure though she quickly asked it to stop and it did. "I hope there aren't too many." she said looking around nervously as they walked now.

One of the cultists Curho had sent to scout hurried back into Jaedenar. He quickly found Curho and repeated what he'd seen to the greater warlock, who began to laugh.
"You've done well," Curho said, and then walked away, eager to find Dag'rema and tell her of the humerous turn of events.

Mary nodded and sfelt her way to the outside of the house, sitting down in the crude chair on the porch.
She was worried. She didn't know what was about to happen, but she had a bad feeling in her stomach.
The town was so quiet.

"They'll be dead soon enough..." Taelani spat. "It caught us by surprise, but now we're ready for it. We have over forty sentinels here, most of whom have been patrolling this forest for millenia. If it moves, we'll find it, and we'll kill it."

Base cursed again, though only in thought, and determined his next move. He couldn't attempt another shot. They'd get him first.
He slowly crawled into another tree, moving as carefully as he could.

Dag'rema sat, meditating in what had once been her chambers. They had been destroyed, of course, far earlier, but smoe of it had been rebuilt. Now she sat, refueling her supplies of fel, and pleasantly remembering some of the victims she had killed.

Base felt his face grow hot. He did no often grow angry, but now he was. He let another crossbow bolt fly into the crowd and quickly moved onward toward his tribe.

As Linmarion landed in Shatterspear, he went straight to the cheiftain's camp, and urgently told her about the raid bearing upon the village.

The crossbow bolt imbedded itself not two inches from Lyriel, and she jumped. "They fire arrows, kill them all!" she yelled, preparing to transform into a panther once again. Nothing happened; no paws or fur. "They use magic! Be aware!" she added, running up to the village.

"The girl... the human girl..." Dag'rema answered. "What was her name... Miri, Mari... something like that. Do not let anything happen to her."

"By de Loa..." Una muttered, rubbing her forehead. "We gonna 'ave ta run... We canna stay 'ere an' be slotta'd..." she continued.
Finally, Base entered her door.
"Oh Base.." she whimpered, embracing him.
Base smiled and kissed her on the forehead. "Don't worry. You'll be safe. I promise. I won't let anything happen to you."

Taelani grinned and fired and arrow into the air, watching as it fell into the village. She smioled as she ran up to the borders of the village, listening with pide to the shrieks and screams as women and children fled.

Mary shivered as she sat. She almost thought she heard screaming on the wind.

The druid turned into a bear and mauled a fleeing family, but was quickly thrust from her form and thrown back. "Curses!" she yelled as she bit a troll's jugular with her slight, elven fangs and relished in the spurting blood.

Mishrana heard the bolt imbead in a tree and she cringed as she heard it let out a wail of pain. She quickly went over to it and began to remove and heal the bark. Then she turned toward the town and charged in summoning up the roots of the tree's to come and grab all the enemies and hold them down while the other's slaughtered them.

he could hear wind blowing in his ear that the battle had begun. "I'm too late. There is nothing i can do..." He said dropping to the ground. "all those poor people..." He slowly cried, tears pouring from his empty eye sockets.

What's wrong?" Taelani asked. "Some kind of troll magic interfering with your powers?"
She snarled and let an arrow fly into a troll woman that was weeping over a small body.

"I have to go..." Base whispered into Una's ear. "I wasn't there for my tribe last time, but I am now. I have to stop them..."
He kissed her again and dashed out the door, sprinting in the direction of the screams.

Mishrana spotted a troll rushing out of a door and rushing toward the rest. "Oh no you don't." She said summoning the roots to entrap him.

"Why haven't we run into any men yet?" one of the humans asked.
"They're here, don't worry," Taelani assured. "Probably just further in..." she nodded. "See, there's one now!" she grinned, aiming her bow at the male troll.

Base grunted and leapt over the roots, spotting the priestess that was leading the group. She fired an arrow at him, but he managed to avoid it.
"I'm going to kill you," he growled, tackling her. He tried to bring his knife to her throat, but she kicked him in the crotch and shoved him off.
"No, you're going to die," she hissed, her eyes wild with anger and hate. "Although after what you id to my sisters, I think that will be a long time from now..." she laughed.
