Hey guys, OK so here is my situation. Right now I am a Balance Druid and my current spec I'm using is
this
. I found it on the web somewhere and I have a feeling that it is not working for me. Can somebody recommend what would be the best Balance spec to maximize my dps in heroics/raids? Also while your at it if you could recommend a good damage rotation that would also be helpful.

1) Your glyphs are all wrong (You have a typhoon glyph and you don't even have Typhoon). Get Moonfire, Starfire and Insect Swarm.
2) Move two points from Moonglow to Improved Moonfire
3) Drop dreamstate and improved insect swarm.
4) Get Improved Faerie Fire (3/3) and Starfall.
5) Put the remaining two points in Dreamstate if you need mana, Typhoon/Gale Winds if you want AoE or Improved Insect Swarm if you want single target damage.
Edit -- After checking your armory... you also need to upgrade to the Triumph or Frost emblem idol. And you should probably try to get the 4 piece bonus from tier nine gear. Which should be easier now that everything is dropping triumph emblems. You probably want to go for everything but chest, given your current gear, but if you pick up more stuff out of the new dungeons that might change.
And you're way under hit cap. You need 263 hit rating in order to not miss. You've got 95. That should be your absolute first priority. You can't DPS if you're missing all the time.

And you're way under hit cap. You need
263
hit rating in order to not miss. (237 hit rating if you have a draenei in your group, not raid but group.)
Ah, thanks for catching that. I somehow managed to hit rating as 23.26 per percent in my head and I keep thinking I've corrected my thinking and still end up with the same mixed up version.
(I'm going to wander off repeating 26.23 to myself now.)

Thanks for the advice. I have currently redone my balance spec to something I feel improves my dps. I also understand that my biggest problem is that I am way below the hit cap so I will have to do my best to get as much spell hit gear in order to fix that. Any suggestions on what spell hit gear I should be aiming for right now?

53/0/13+5
is the basic blueprint for a PvE boomkin.
1/5
could alternatively go to
1/5
based on preference
If a knockback is needed pick up
Typhoon
If mana regen is needed invest in Intensity as needed
If further mana regen is needed and Intensity is fully talented invest in Dreamstate as needed
Invest in ISS for more single target dps, Gale Winds for more aoe dps, or Owlkin Frenzy if you prefer
If any points are left put the rest in ISS or Gale Winds, whichever isnt filled out or Owlkin Frenzy if prefered
GoMoonfire
is essential
GoStarfire
is superb for single target dps
GoInsect Swarm
is also good for single target dps but at the cost of the 3% hit debuff
GoFocus
is good for both aoe and single target dps and makes SF less cumbersome
GoStarfall
is good for both single target ad aoe dps
GoInnervate
should only be an option when gearin up as mana issues quickly become a non-issue
GoRebirth
doesn't benefit your dps any but it can ensure a BRed player isn't 1 shotted upon rezzing
GoTyphoon
though only a minor glyph, should never have a situation worth taking it, if you have Typhoon it's either for a
useful
knockback or to $%^& the tank off.

And glyfs aswell..
Rotation:
1: FF (fiery fire)
2: MF (Moonfire)
3: IS (Insects swarm)
4: Spamm Starfire (until Wrath Eclips proc)
5: Spamm Wrath until Proc ends
6: recast 2: and 3:
5: Cast more Wrath until Starfire eclips proc
6: Spamm Starfire until proc ends
and start over from 2:

Rotation in a nutshell:
If you have the SF eclipse up you need to be casting SF.
If you have the W eclispe up you need ot be casting W.
Refresh DoTs as they go down.
The best way to start the rotation is to W spam till SF eclipse.
Always have iFF on the target, be it you or another Boomkin applying it.
