the spec isn't ideal but isn't a million miles off. what's more that spec is the most forgiving for inexperienced or less able players - it's the one i'd suggest for a player who is struggling with a complicated affliction rotation, for example.
check her rotation. it should be:
Curse > corruption > immolate > incinerate spam (refreshing DoTs)
she should have a dot timer addon (i'd suggest DoTimer - look on curse)
she should literally spam the incinerate button. i know a lot of casters who watch the animation to know when to cast the next spell. it's brutal, i know, but you'll lose a shocking amount of DPS by waiting for the animation for cast times.

yeah, quartz is great.
it's a castbar addon which makes the end of the bar go red depending on your lag.
