The most prefered spec for heroics is of course tank. Anyone can tell you that tank queues are instant. As for 10 mans, that depends on your guild. In my guild there is an overabundance of tanks and healers and a shortage of dps. If you are just planning to do pug raids then tank or healer is a safe bet.

I'm tank and healer and I have to say that queueing as healer has dropped significantly!
I used to wait 25 minutes to have a heroic as healer, now I hardly have time to sell my auctions (less than 5 minutes).
+ if you're both (tank/healer), you have more chance to get a raid position too :)

People's experience here has been mine as well.
I would have a word of caution though. Tanking or healing, with very fast queues, can turn you into a cracked out WoW a-hole pretty quickly. When you have no down time, you can get to feel super drained, really quickly. On my Pally I switched from Tanking to DPS, and honestly welcomed the 20min queues for downtime to mine/quest while waiting.
I have noticed the heal queue times rapidly decreasing, as I too really only heal these days. I would nitpick (jokingly!), but in terms of times it's more like Tank < Heal << DPS, there's a wide difference between heals and dps.
