Beste alliance race/professions for mage

Hey guys,
I got a troll mage and quited some time ago, a friend of me is going to give me a scroll of resurrection! He is alliance.
I was wondering what the best race for an alliance mage is. (for PvE in MoP)
And what are the best professions for a mage in MoP for PvE?

most will say human with tailor and engineer or you can go gnome and get a free root breaker but lose the extra damage trinket due to the fact that humans get a free pvp trinket as racial

For MoP pve, best racial will probably be a Panda just for
Epicurean
which is a passive food buff. Pretty op as an always on passive for raiding.
