Blood Elf Timeline
Return to board index
Okay, I searched the threads to see if my question was already asked. If I missed something, just link it for me. (And sorry for potential wall o' text crit)
Im working on a writing project where I need to take a story from a game, movie, or book, and write it from an opposite perspective of what we're shown. What I have chosen is the story of a Blood Elf who went to Northrend and Outland with Kael'Thas.
What I'm not finding by combing WoWwikki, the official site, and other resources is a good timeline of when events took place.
For example: How much time passed between the razing of Silvermoon and corruption of the Sunwell to the time Kael joined the Alliance in Northrend? How much time passed between that event and his alliance with the Naga? Between that and his being declared a traitor by Garithos and sentenced to death? Between that and the time Vashj and the Naga helped him escape to Outland? Etc.
It seems the community here is pretty handy with the lore, and I was hoping to get help constructing my timeline so I can pace my story correctly, and take it all the way from Silvermoon's destruction to Kael's death in Magister's Terrace.
Thanks, and again, if I missed a thread or a good page somewhere, please link it.
TL;DR: I need Blood Elf history halp.
Have you tried looking into other timelines that overlap with the Blood Elves'? For example, Arthas' rise to a Lich King happens at the same time the destruction of Quel'thalas and Kael'thas' expedition to Northrend do. If you find the first one, you might be able to cross-reference a little.
Thanks for the quick reply Argent, never really thought of doing that to get the Quel'Thalas and Northrend bit. Any suggestions on concurrent timelines for the events in Outland?
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
Okay, with Argent and Tyrent's comments, I figure I'm gonna need to just make a best guess on most of the post Frozen Throne, pre-BC timeline. When I've gotten one I feel comfortable with, I'll post it here to get opinions on how it feels, or if I'm just a Lore noob, destined for a Mary Sue story that'll be burned on principle the second it comes out of the printer.
I too am looking for a blood elf timeline to match my character's story. My story has him as a little kid seeking vengeance on the lich king for slaughtering his family leaving him as an orphan. The part I need help with is figuring out an age range between then, and the equivalent of someone say in their 20s or 30s when he challenges the lich king and becomes a death knight who still is bent on revenge. any ideas?
Um...you realize it's only been about 7-8 years from the fall of Quel'thalas to Wrath right? It wouldn't be possible for the character to be that old.
And that elves are adult at age 100, depending on source.
And hasn't a new timeline been published?
actually i didn't know that. didn't play the first few games. Only those from BC on. So, i was actually looking for a timeline that would help me determine how my DK's story would fit. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Also, I'm kinda new at RPing. Any advice on that would also be helpful. :)
Your DK would already be an adult; and player DK's were created 6 months before the start of Wrath.
Also please try to be a little more nicer when posting the comments Adamsm. Like I said in my last post, I didn't get a chance to play the original Warcraft games. So I had no idea. Not everyone knows how long it's been. My rping guild didn't even know that. That being said. I could use some help deciding his age. any thoughts?
That comment was already made in the thread though, about the time frame for it.
Well, I must have missed it. Thanks for telling me.
Blood Elf maturity age can range between 60 - 80, really. But, there's no definite answer.
Okay, anyways. The Third War was around 10-12 years ago, this was when Silvermoon was attacked and Lady Sylvanas fell and took control of the Forsaken. This was when the western side of the city fell. This was simply the residental district of Silvermoon. It inflicted quite a bit of damage as well. Silvermoon is an ancient city, thousands of years old.
Anyways, the Sunwell was created thousands of years ago. The Elves became increasingly addicted to Arcane magic. During the third war, the attack was harsh and the elves rebanded as the Sin'dorei, the Children of the Blood, aka Blood Elves.
Okay. Now, the green eyes. The Sunwell is tainted by the fel magic. The elves are addicted to magic, hence green eyes.
Now, the Sunwell was clense, the Prophet Velen restored it with Holy energy. Now the Elves are shifting from Arcane to Holy light, the fel taint is fading.
Probably wrong, but this is what I know.
