Boomkin DPS

I'm still kinda new to the druid, what stats should i be looking at for boomkin dps for raiding and i know my rotation should be IS MF wrath till proc then star wash rinse and repeat and what about hitting the hit cap this is my current build and gear...looking for whatever help i can get thanks guys

Are you guys serious? My trash DPS isn't that great, but my boss DPS is always near the top of the list.

I do IS, MF, spam wrath until proc then do starfire.

What glyphs do you guys have? Link your specs/armory. I'll see if I can help. It could just be a gear issue too. Right now I have roughly 1900 spell power in moonkin form unbuffed.

I have absolutly no problems with Boomkin raid boss DPS. I generally hit the high 3k's on most fights. (Even if I do more as Feral..boom is still fun).

First, make sure you are hit capped, this is where most players fail and then complain about DPS. Second, have a proper spec by balancing mana regneration talents and dps talents, lastly make sure you are using a proper DPS rotation.

With the 2pT7 and talented IS it does a crapload of damage. Rotation on 90% of boss fights should be the same, I can't really think of many where I would want to change it from:

MF, IS, Wrath till Eclipse, SF

Make sure you are useing treats on every CD and (if talented) using Starfall. It really is not hard being a Boomkin. In raids fully buffed I reach about 2k spellpower. 30% crit, hit cap, and run about 450 haste rating and I don't even have a single piece of t7.5 (mostly 10 man gear, a few 25 pieces).

Just get hit capped and learn to play your class.

That spec will pretty much ensure that you NEVER run out of mana, and I am debating even dropping 3/3 Intensity for 3/3 Owlkin Frenzy (or a mix of the two).

You really need to work on Crit and not hit... I think that is your problem at the moment.. you hit everything but not very powerful .

<sarcasm> Yeah, it's definitely better to miss three (or four, if you have my luck) SF during a blue eclipse proc than to hit everything, albeit not very powerful. </sarcasm>

Stats stacking (best to worst):

Hit (till cap) > Spell Power > Haste/Crit(till 50% after buffs/talents/gear) > Int > Spirit/Mp5

Mana regen (best to worst):

OoC > Intensity > Dreamstate > Moonglow

Armor type:

Both cloth and Leather are equally useful for a boomkin but if possible focus towards the leather if you find equivalent pieces.

Rotation (for 90% of boomkins):

IS - MF - Treants(when up) - W(til proc) - SF(till 4.4 - 4.5 second from Eclipse CD ending) - Repeat

Simple as that folks.

Well for me, I have ran Naxx twice since I hit 80. I dont use either IS or MF. On group pulls I pull about 4500 DPS and on Bosses about 2500 DPS. Hurricane on Aoe pulls is FTW! For Bosses my rotation is treants, starfall, then starfire, then Wrath till Proc then Starfire while on proc then back to wrath, rinse and repeat. I have been told that is the worst rotation for a Boomkin. But I am always in top 3 DPS in any raid.

To not use moonfire and IS is to not maximize your DPS. On some fights like Patchwerk, I am pulling 8-9 % total damage done while the next closest is 7%. For one GCD, moonfire and IS pack a serious punch. I recommend you at least try incorporated them in your rotation and see how you do.

I also raccomend to refresh MF at the begining of eclipse proc... do it if MF is under 3 sec duration... in this way you make a lot more dmg(3sec+9 sec from glyph==12 sec, tha means 12 sec on 15 sec of ecxlipse duration and it's ok). Another advice is to use haste potion at the beginning of the first eclipse and during BL: in this way you can make a huge dps for 15 sec(i did 7k dps on gundrak hero boss to make the achievement, he gamed over in 40 sec:P)
