I came to these forums because i was about to open a new thread asking basically the same questions, just that i dont have either weaponsmithing or armorsmithing yet, because i simply aint able to get it anywhere. It annoys me a huge deal, because alot of the new blacksmithing recipes i would be able to get at 287 blacksmithing require one of the specialisations.

You have to go to winterspring and do a further quest, there is a quest line for "axe", "sword", and "mace" there.

There was a bug going around whereby if you dropped a profession and picked up BS you were not able to get the specialization quests. Not sure of the specifics as it didn't affect me but there was an article last week on wow insider about it.

as far as i know there is no quest to become a weaponsmith. i just leveled bs from 1 to 400 in 4 days and went weaponsmith. all i did was talk to the guy in if learn what he would teach me. then i went to winterspring and became a master hammersmith. i didnt have to do any quests there unless i wanted the pattern they offered hope this helps i know the armorsmith is long quest line and very expensive. i did armorsmith when i first started the game then dropped bs for jewelcrafting but went back to bs

It's still bugged and set to be fixed in the next patch, until then you'll have to wait.

i wouldnt pick a specialization at all at the moment. there are no advantages to being either an armorsmith or wepsmith, as you can only craft a few very quickly replaced blue items.
maybe (!) bliz will add some bop specialization patterns or trained stuff, but atm most everything is BoE.
im staying armorsmith until i see if that goes anywhere ^^
but, to your question, there are quests in winterspring (i think - its been a while). dunno why you cant get them - maybe you should turn on low level quest tracking or look up the npc.
