I use 2 17" Samsung monitors. One I've had for around 2 years, the other one a few months. I haven't ever heard anyone speak poorly of Samsung's displays.
I run at 1280x1024.

Get something full HD (1920x1080 res or 1920x1200). Get LED backlit. Get 21 in or larger. I'd go 23 in myself. Beyond that check reviews. I've heard a 2ms gtg response time makes a difference over 5ms but haven't noticed myself. For brands I love samsung but they're more expensive. Just check the reviews. Also I'd get regular TN panel over IPS. IPS has a better color spectrum but not sure if you will notice playing games and TN is cheaper and has better response times.(##RESPBREAK##)12##DELIM##Gnub##DELIM##I believe I know what might've happened here, but in any case ... yeah, please remember to check the date before you reply.
