Also: You are the first person I've seen use the term "PK" in WoW. Korean MMO's represent! :D
Strange. I thought the term PK (player killing) came from Runescape.
I thought it came from .HACK/SIGN.

Was in .Hack but didn't it come from Ultima originally?

I was doing the quests for the Lunar Festival where you have to visit the Elder in Darnassus ( I was on my undead warrior toon) and I had no problem with guards at all. In fact, didn't even aggro anything. Just flew high above and then when I saw the exclamation mark just swooped right down and got the quest for it. I agree with original post, flying in Azeroth has made things a lot more easier and I'm not sure I like that

There's a difference between difficulty and tedium. This falls into the realm of tedium. God forbid you spend more time actually playing instead of moving back and forth between zones. While it does make some things "easier", it largely just eliminates pointless travel. In terms of FTH/FTA the only thing it does is change which direction the attackers come from, it doesn't necessarily make it any easier to kill the bosses.

I remember first seeing PK in Meridian 59, which came out in the mid 90s. But yeah seen the term used the most in Ultima Online.

*headdesk* IF example they can just basically fly there. Org they can just fly there. TB they can just fly there. SMC They can basically fly there. Really guys, Just....no
SMC/Eversong/Ghostlands is a total no-fly zone.
Why? The server that the Belf and the Draenei zones are hosted on does not have flying enabled yet, is what a GM told me.
As for you beefs about easy access to faction bosses. Not a bit easier. You just don't have to run in from some gate or whatever, but you still need to fight off tons of guards, players etc.

UO had the term PK thrown around quite a bit, however, I heard it first in Diablo

I first heard it in Diablo as well, but I'm almost certain the term originated well before that game. Probably in the first MUD or something. PK really just means player kill(er)

I don't understand why they haven't enabled it there yet, quite confusing.
Because they didn't want to.

15 days is a necro now? Oh my...
Never the less, let's not bring the thread more off-topic for that reason.

I think this makes FTA or FTH too easy that they can fly into places easier then normal :/
Try flying into an opposing capital city...let me know how that goes for you.
Ok, I have. Went to Org on a lvl 80 rogue, flew in got the elder and mounted up. Ok, so I didn't time it just right and the flying gaurds got me once. but I mounted up and flew out. no more problems. Went to IF on a lvl 80 priest, got the elder, mounted up and flew out, no problems what so ever. So, it went pretty well, actually. Better than doing the Thanksgiving Holiday and having to run into Darn, as a 74 hunter.
