the channelling is compressed. shorter time channelling, same number of ticks = same amount of damage in shorter time

yes to the numbers, no to the possibility.

think about it, in the BC days they added the ability for haste to reduce the GCD to a minimum of 1 second. everyone thought "cool! i can have one second GCDs!" then they noticed that there wasn't enough haste gear in the game to get there.
...and that only needed 33%

well, now there's way more haste gear in the game but, sadly, the amount of haste rating needed to get 1% is much greater too.

don't worry about what you reduce the cast or channel time by/to just think of how much more DPS you can do for each % of haste you get.
in it's simplest form 5% haste while spamming shadowbolts means 5% more dps. 5% more hit on a boss is also 5% more damage (actually a bit more given the relationship between hit and crit). 5% more crit (with ruin) is 5% more damage (though more variable and dependant on RNG)

there is a sticky with this info at the top of the forums - admittedly there was one small error in the haste section, but that has now been fixed.

how much haste i need to make my 15 sec channeling to a 7.5?
in numbers not % :)
You would need so much, I dont think it's doable.
Remember, that +hit comes before everything (unless you're only PvPing).

no you want all 4 casting stats in this order but they're almost equal spell power > hit > haste > crit until you're hit capped and if you're destr you might well want to put crit before haste not much need for afflic or demo to switch it though.
