Cleanse versus Purify
Return to board index
I was doing a bit of reading, and it got me wondering something I've vaguely thought about in the past:
They both have the same mana cost, and they both do the exact same thing - only Cleanse also removes a magic effect.
Now, I know I saw an argument that "Paladins weren't meant to have a 'magic' eraser until 42 ", but would it not have been easier to just put a second rank in Purify that
removes a magic effect?
Or am I missing some super-secret secondary hidden effect of Purify?
there's no hidden effect, it's just blizz's decision to name the spell like that.
I don't exactly know Blizzard's justification in making such abilities, but I do know Purify can be useful for removing poisons/diseases without the worry of removing magic effects (such as the nasty
used by warlocks and some monsters).
