Vera laughed and straightened in her seat. "Oh clam down, Eryan. I
am
saving myself for marriage, you know."

"Third or fourth?" Eryan raised an eyebrow. "Something tells me you'd poison the first two all too soon."

"Oh, wow. I am offended. Look at how offended I am. I am all of the offended, Eryn," Vera cried, pouting.

"I think you have some hot and bothered stuck behind your ears. Might wanna scrub harder," Eryan grunted, not buying the act. Not at first.

"Well I never implied your first husband would be the one, yes?" Eryan reasoned. "What makes you so confident someone amoral and ruthless cannot weasel his way into your good graces, tricking you into thinking he is in fact the one?"

Vera peeked out from beneath a delicate hand she had been using to cover her eyes. She smiled conspiringly. "Well, I'd be the more amoral and ruthless one of course."

Eryan relaxed visibly, now convinced the whole crying and pouting truly was an act.
"Is there any way to determine how much of what you say can be taken at face value, o vile temptress?" he attempted a sly half-smirk. What came out was a grimace that looked more like a snarl.

Vera laughed musically, though not in a splenetic way, and leaned back in her seat casually. "Hang around long enough, and you just might."

"Well, it's not like I'm planning to drop out of this school. No can do, this is simply too amazingly great to screw up!" Eryan said determinedly, fist-pumping.

A ticket was handed off without a word spoken, just as well, as the Ticketmaster was becoming thoroughly exhausted through this entire ordeal. A young woman shouldered two bulging backpacks, one on each arm, as she walked up to the deck of the ship. She was average height, with a caramel complexion and neatly cut black hair that fell squarely beneath her jawline and just above her shoulders. Her eyes, blue as day, seemed nearly always narrowed in a thoughtful, or sometimes glaring, expression.
Jinai made her way further into the ship, where the cabins, bursting with students (most chatting, some eying each other quite rudely, or ignoring each other entirely) lay. It took a good amount of time to find an empty one, but she eventually did and found herself seated in one of the chairs with her bags stowed away.

"To be honest, I don't really have a clear idea," Joaquin said slowly, lifting his hat so that he could turn to face Tristan.
"I mean, I didn't ever expect to become some sort of a mage to begin with. I play my guitar well enough, and I know the tip of a rapier from its hilt. Always thought it would be enough.
And then, well, then at some point I found out I can do..."
He paused to twiddle his fingers and mutter something incomprehensible under his nose. When he spoke once more, it seemed like several people of various age and gender spoke with him.

Theo Beckett

Once the rope was properly coiled to the satisfaction of Theo and to any possible later judge, the young man quickly took his pack and entered the superstructure. After looking through the windows of many full cabins he finally found one which held only a single occupant. A girl, and quite the pretty one too, he found at first glance.
Not a problem.
He slid the door open and leaned through the frame. "Good day, miss," he greeted politely. "May I sit here?"

Tristan paused, considering what he was going to say next, before shrugging. He held out his hands in front of him and, with a large amount of concentration, cast the exact same spell that Joaquin did, the exact same way he did.

Joaquin stared in genuine awe.
"Wow. That was actually pretty damn cool. Can you copy any spell like that?" the bard asked, dismissing the voice illusion with a snap of his fingers.

"Yeah, pretty much," Tristan replied, rubbing the back of his head. "The more complex the more I need to concentrate... and the more I need to concentrate the more likely it'll blow up in my face."

"Thankee!"
Theo fairly shone up inside but did little than smile amicably as he stepped into the cabin proper, heaved his pack up on the luggage shelf and threw himself into a seat opposite the girl.
"I'm Theo," he then said an leaned forward a little, hoping he'd earn a handshake.

"Jinai," she said smoothly, proffering her hand towards Theo.
Despite the fact that she was being quite amiable, Jinai's expression remained oddly neutral, with only a slight friendly spark to her eye to suggest she was not just putting on an outward facade.

"Neat," Kaestan said honestly, peering at the books cover curiously. He opened his mouth, as if to add something further to the conversation, then decidedly closed it. It seemed Arthur wasn't interested in talking much.
Kaestan glanced outside the window to the hallway, briefly wondering if anything more interesting was happening. With a quick shake of his head he dismissed it; he was better off here, studying in the quiet. He settled back in, nose to the pages, rereading the same passage for what seemed like the dozenth time.
