i got a freshly dinged 85 rogue and im looking for the ideal offhand i know in the past you wanted a quick offhand but im not finding any other than daggers i wanted to know if i just looked over a quick off hand or if i am supposed to use a slow one now or if i am supposed to use a dagger all help is appreciated thanks :D

i found that as an orc, combat, i do more damage with an offhand axe and instant poison than i do with a dagger (equal dps) and instant poison. not by alot but still.... i guess its because of the racial trait for axes.
There are no oh fast axes at this time in Cata.
Fast oh dagger is what to use due to proc rates of poison.
Even if you are an orc.
Elistist jerks has a very nice combat rogue section, I would suggest you read it.

i understand the common wisdom is to use a fast off hand but, i did slightly more dps with a slow offhand axe than i did with a dagger, but it probably only works that way for an orc.
Then you are doing it wrong..
Not sure if you are trolling or not, but fast OH is the way, not a slow OH.
The orc racial for axes does NOT change this...

DP is not on PPM, so you get more procs from Fast off-hands than Slow off-hands.
When stacked to 5, it will also proc your main hand poison.

i guess i could try it with DP on a OH dagger, the test i did was with IP on the OH weapon, all i am saying is that i did SLIGHTLY, VERY SLIGHTLY, more dps with the OH axe.
i wish someone could explain it, instead of refusing to try to understand it. saying im wrong is like saying i cant read a number, and thats ridiculous, if you dont have an explanation do some research yourself and come back with something helpfull to say, other wise why are you commenting?
i am open to the idea that i may be wrong somehow, but i would like to hear from someone who can explain it.

directly questioning your ability to read a number.
CP and DP mechanics ensure that a fast OH crush a slow OH, all day, erry day. Your inability to understand that is, quite frankly, mind boggling.

heres why fast off hand
deadly poison, the faster you can stack it, the more it will proc your other hand poison. combat and even more so assassination will benefit from this.
Combat Potency, the more successful off hand attacks you have the more energy you will regenerate. this is a key component to combat spec
since your talking about axes then i'll skip why assassination with 1.8 dagger and just explain why slow MH
Sinister Strike is your combo point generating ability. the slower the wep, the higher in damage it will be rated for. and a sinister strike will be that much greater with that slow wep.
Instant poison on MH because deadly is on your fast off hand for reasons explained above(and some other mechanics on how it procs)
To Recap
Rogues use poisons. the better you utilize them the more dps you will gain. stack your DP fast so you proc your IP faster for more damage. fast off hand for combat potency so you get more energy so you can sinister strike more with that slow main hand that makes your sinister strikes hit harder.
