If I'm casting Pyroblast right before Combustion, should I wait until my UI reports that Pyroblast has done all the stuff it's supposed to do until I hit Combustion or just hit Pyro then Combustion immediately?
I ask because I know all the stuff a spell is going to do is calculated as soon as it finishes casting, but stuff like the Pyroblast DoT and the Ignite refresh don't show up right away and I'm worried about Combustion missing out on those. Does that actually happen?

I think you need to wait for the pyro to effectively hit the target before it's damage goes into ignite and you get the dot. So I'd fill the 'travel time' with an inferno blast and then combust.
add-on, but configuring MSBT to show the damage on your Ignite ticks and Pyroblast crits front and center in your UI (with everything else off to the side somewhere) is a much better helper.
