While you can do that it's got a couple extra steps in it that are kind of redundant. All you have to do is transfer the WTF and Interface folders to the new computer. I run a lot of addon on my system but even then my Interface and WTF folders will easily fit on a 512MB USB drive. If you have a USB drive all you have to do is copy these folders onto it and place it in the next machine. You could even burn a CD that can be a little trying unless you do it all the time.
One note to moving UIs, unless your going to the same size and resolution monitor your going to have to reset a portion of the UI. It will depend on how big of a change your making from the original system. Going from my 22in desktop to my 17in laptop I basically had to reset everything. So you might just have to reset everything depending on what your coming from and what your going too.
