If this was the case, all you would see is dungeon farming for gold, I bet it's all you see currently for the badges! From there, the only thing you need quests for is for reputations and achievements.
With all the extra gold laying around, the AH's will inflate drastically, ports will go from 10-20g to 50g area. Everything as we know it will be increased 5-10 fold.

It's not like you can spend a day doing dungeons and come out much richer.

Gold farming / dailies are pretty much balanced in wow.
However if you want the idea of Gold farming / Auction House, I can give you that.

Please expalin why doing dailies for gold is not "playing the game".
Some people don't have time to sit through 2,3,4 or more straight hours to raid.
Some people just don't like it.
Some people only have time to do the daily heroic.
Some people only have time to drop in to do a quest (daily) or two.
