So i tanked nexus normal today as my first tank outing in northrend. It went well but i struggled with Dark command on one pull. 2 mobs broke free and i figured dark command is cast on a party member who has aggro, but i guess it got it wrong.
My question is this
If i use dark command on a mob, do all mobs not attacking my from that group get focused onto me? or just the one?
Also, are there any macro's available for dark command?

You must have played a pally tank before because that is how their previously only taunt worked.
Dark Command you have to target the add you want taunted, not the player. We do not have an aoe or multi-target taunt. Just some wicked aoe abilities to build some good threat.

im aware of the rotation and can hold aoe aggro very easily even as blood. However if another mob comes and i don't see it in time to pull them to me, they usually lock onto my healer. So i now have 3 mobs runing around.
so my question is this.
Those 3 mobs are a group. If i dark command one of them, does it apply to that one mob, or the group the mob is assigned in?
that make sense?

It applies to the one mob you targeted. The best thing you can do is run to your healer (or hopefully the healer is running to you) and blood boil, howling blast, unholy blight, or empower rune weapon+Death and decay.
To put it simply, forget about paladin abilities.

Ah ha. So its basically for a boss. not aoe

I had this problem too,
I had my healer stand in my DnD on AoE trash pulls, I would pull then turn the mobs around so the mobs had their backs to the group and i was facing the healer. Then you can zoom your camera all the way out to look for patrols.(you can increase the distance in the display or interface options move it to max!)
Put a mark on your healer (I use the crested-moon). If any adds show up and go for the healer you can spot them better. if the adds come when DnD is still up, you don’t even have to worry about it, If DnD is not, use empower rune weapon and then DnD.
Note: let the healer stand at max range on boss fights, Or if mobs fear and fear ward is not availed, let the healer stand at max range
As long as your healer dose not try to kite the mobs all over the place, you can pick the mobs up.
