Defense Diminishing returns

Does anybody know what those exactly are? I've been wondering...if there is some sort of diminishing return, wouldn't that mean that in certain fights when those DRs pop up, the tank will become crittable under certain circumstances?

Defense doesn't suffer DR, just the dodge and parry provided by it.
If you place your mouse over your dodge % it says "before DR" it doesn't say that for your defense, I hope.

Actually, when you mouse over defense, it DOES say 'before DR' :-(
