Devour Magic post-4.0.6
Return to board index
Ok I don't usually post a new topic with just a single question, but here goes: what are your views on how to use the "new" Devour Magic?
Should you reserve it to get out of sheep/roots/anything defensive (basically making it a second short-cd trinket)?
Or should you use it to get a hot or buff off the enemy player?
Or does it depend, like it always tends to do? :p
I haven't used it yet after the patch, unless clicking it randomly counts as using it.
Links to forums or blogs are also appreciated. I didn't really find any, but then again I suck at googling sometimes xD
inb4 link to the "ask a simple question, get a simple answer" thread. I have considered it.
In an attempt to make all pets somewhat viable for PvP (and reduce the value of the one that was used most, the felhunter) the defensive dispel was given to the imp.
Devour magic now only works offensive and with a 20 second cd you have to be quite lucky to remove a usefull spell, but well...if you see something you should try ;)
Blizzard also failed to notice that the cd increase from 8 to 20 sec also makes the felhunter glyph completely useless, given the competition on major slots.
Ah right seems like I missed a few things :)
Well I'd consider using the succubus, but the felhunter's Demon Soul use trumps it by a clear mile. Still, spell interrupt vs. knockback and seduce (= fear without having to cast yourself) ... hmm, choices choices!
though it is heretical to utter or even think such things within the church walls of affliction pee vee pee, I must say I have at times considered using the imp. granted, the felpuppy will always synergize best with affliction. its spell lock is awesome and its demon soul remains stronger for the spec. The offensive dispel however, is very close to useless.
A 6 sec CD defensive magic dispel just seems incredibly powerful when you imagine the wealth of possible uses from a survival perspective. My biggest concerns is the fragility of the imp though. what's your honest thoughts on this people? The question has been up before, but has usually been shot down.
