well, I was moonkin from 70-80 (feral at 80). But in my moonkin build i didn't choose either of them. There are so many points towards making your spells more efficient that I never found mana loss to be that big of a problem. If you HAD to get one, i'd suggest using dreamstate simply becasue it's already in the balance tree and you can use a few of the "throw away" points there. If you put it in intensity that's more points in resto, and less in balance.

Another thing that might impact your decision is what you intend to be doing with it. I'll see if i can find my old spec somewhere and post what i was doing.

That's the build I was using at 80 for a while. You can of course change a few things here and there, but it doesn't use Dreamstate OR Intensity. And again, mana was never really an issue. Hope this helps slightly. :)

Edit, Celestial Focus, bosses do not get stun and the 3% only on crits, is it really wort it? Gues depends on your spell rotation, if using SF mainly, less crits cauz longer(fewer) casts. I see a lot who use, and those who don't.

I had thoughts of Genesis since IS is our best DpM spell, this would improve it. Also the Glyph that renew's it makes it a 1 time cast on a boss (or fewer unless ya gota move a lot). Celestial Focus gives 3% haste(not crit) and is highly suggested to take as a Boomkin. The stun can be used on some adds but that portion of it is mostly for PvP. Imp. IS is where you'd get the 3% crit your talking about and again this is very highly suggested to take..

Genesis is a resto talent to get them past the first tier of balance talents to the other talents that have synergy for resto. It is at best a ~1%(5% of the avg 20% our DoTs do for us) increase to dps at the cost of 5 talent points. So no I would not take it.

As for mana regen best to worst:
1. Omen of Clarity
2. Intensity
3. Dreamstate
4. Moonglow.

You can opt if you want to place 1 point into genesis in place of moonglow when trying to get past the 2nd tier of balance. But this is a personal preference and most choose to place it into moonglow.

Intensity > Dreamstate.

You get lots more mana from Intensity. If you are choosing between the two, chose Intensity.
