How depressing.
/sob
It's really only because I've been blowing money on a WH40K army and on WoW time.
And Starcraft 2.

So if I managed to terrify myself with a character I made up for my own book, am I really ^&*!ed up, or just egotistical?
Heh, means the character works; ask any of the Lore people about my Kalistra Sunstorm, I think she causes them nightmares after some of the stuff she's done in the rp's.

A really good writer perhaps? I scare myself with my own characters, as they all have reasons to do what they do, but the things they do aren't necessarily good.

Oh gods, Kalistra.

^Well if he's a humanoid abomination who's trying to weaken the various factions of the world to be slaughtered by his demon overlords, is that a good scary character?
If he has valid reasons for doing so.

I'm going to use this as an opportunity to rant about how Dragon Quest X should be released on ps3/360 instead of wii.
People say that the Dragon Quest franchise has no company loyalty and that their main games are always released on whichever system is winning the current generation's console war. 1-4 were on NES, 5 and 6 were on SNES, 7 was on playstation, and 8 was on ps2. 9 is kind of weird being on a handheld, but it's still on the DS, so this pattern makes sense. However, the same thing can be said for the Final Fantasy games... they were always released on whatever the dominant console was. 1-3 on NES, 4-6 on SNES. 7-9 on playstation, 9 and 12 on ps2... 11 even had a ps2 version. If this pattern had continued, then 13 would have been released on wii, but it wasn't. Many people even thought it was weird for it to come out on 360 in addition to ps3, and if it had come out on wii instead of ps3, my head might have exploded... and it still might when DQ10 comes out on wii.
I just don't understand the point of putting it on wii. Maybe that system has sold better than ps3's/360's have, but those two systems are similar enough that if was released on one, it could be released on the other (like what happened with FF13), and the combined sales of those two systems are larger than the amounts of wiis sold. Also, people don't buy a wii for rpg's. Nintendo hasn't been the console rpg company for like... 15 years or something, which is why there hasn't really been a notable nintendo rpg that wasn't on a handheld since... Chrono Trigger? On the surface it may seem to make sense to put DQ10 on wii to put it out to the largest audience possible, but as I said earlier, the ps360 audience is bigger, and would actually care about the game.
So yeah, that's my rant... putting DQ10 on wii doesn't make any more sense than putting FF13 on it would have been, and I think most people would agree me saying that that wouldn't make any sense at all. Thanks for reading :D

Perhaps to make use of the controller? I'm not exactly sure - never having played them before.

the ps360 audience is bigger,Dragon Quest is a far bigger franchise in Japan than it is in the West, the XBox 360 virtually doesn't exist in Japan (although it would SKYROCKET if DQ10 came out on it, like it did when Tales of Vesperia did), and the Wii is more popular that the PS3 in Japan.

Dragon Quest is known for being
extremely
traditional, so I doubt that's the case. Especially since ps3 and 360 are getting their own motion control things anyways.

Yeah... that's depressing :( I wish more people here liked it, I only know one person (in real life) who also likes Dragon Quest, and he's half japanese :)

Revenge, mainly. Now I feel like I'm shamelessly self-promoting, lol.
Heh, better then Kalistra, she was just ape#$%^ insane and enjoyed causing suffering and feeding off of it.

I've always been rather interested in Dragon Quest, but I don't think I could jump in ten games into the series, and I don't feel like playing a really really old game either. =/
You don't have to play the earlier games to understand what's going on in each game. 1-3 made up one story, and the same for 4-6. But since then, each game has its own story that is unrelated to the other games. Also, it doesn't really feel (or look) dated. 8 has amazing graphics for a ps2 game, and 9 has amazing graphics for a DS game. As long as you don't mind turn based battles, then you probably would like the games.

DQ8 is a beautiful and deep game... but it's also slow at times heh; not as slow as Xenosaga episode one, but can drag out here and there. I enjoyed all the extra stuff, but I still need to actually beat the game heh. Also, because Toriyama does the artwork... the main character can go Super Saiyan if his distress get's too high lol.
